Larian Studios Forums Beyond Divinity (English) Technical Problems Act 3 - Holy Water

This isn't a technical problem, but I'd like a technical explanation. Is it possible to buy holy water in Act 3?

I managed to buy a few bowls at the end of Act 2, even with restoring and retrying. I know I saw it twice before I knew what it did. Then I went back to the end of that act and tried the vendors in the BF until I got two or three bowls.


However, no matter how many times I exit and return to the Act 3 BF, I never see holy water.

I'm not looking for a cheat, but many of us would like to know what governs the odds of holy water showing up in a merchant's inventory. Some say it is the combined luck of the main character and the DK. Some say it is the luck of the player alone, and has nothing at all to do with the game. One guy has a screen shot of his main character with 11 bowls of the stuff.

Is holy water only available in Act 2 and Act 4?

There is a low chance of buying holy water, but it should be available in any of the acts AFAIK. Maybe you were just lucky seeing it that often in act 2, and the law of averages is catching up to you?

Item / equipment drops are influenced by the average character luck, but the chance of finding holy water in the BF is not. One of the Larians said that only your own luck is involved.

Umm, what DOES holy water even do? I have a bowl, but it seems pointless. I'm thinking of selling it.

With Alchemy level 4, holy water can be used to make a permanent potion.

Thank you for the information. I'll keep on teleporting in and out of the BFs and checking each vendor every so often. At least I now know it isn't entirely futile.
