I have the last patch, 1.34 I believe. The King told me about the rich merchant in Verdistis after I showed him the letter (already had replaced the Stone Axe in its plinth).
Sir Patrick talks about his problems with Sir Dante and also offers to lend me money (I have not borrowed any money). Those are the only conversation options I seem to get. There is no mention of the armor or the debt owed to him...
