Hi all!
I'm new to this forum and I love DD! It's a really cool game!

Now I have a question for you.
Are there certain books in the game you can collect and then something happens when you've collected the whole series of books? I'm thinking at a series about some freebooting orc of some sort, I think... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" />

Cheers!

No, not that I know of, these books are for ambiente and entertainment, as some are for information - but no value in collecting them in a library

I thought it might be that you could get a treasuremap or something when you've collected all of the books in one series. But that isn't the case then.

Thanks for your quick answer! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/freak.gif" alt="" />

There are 3 books in Verdistis - in the merchant guild cellar. If you get all 3 of them, you have the skill "trader's tongue" for free.

The treasure maps you have to find are scrolls (4), not books.

Ah! Ok, thanks! But I already have traders tounge from that crazy loon who sells fake magical objects in the inn. Can I get another level then insted?

How do I know which scrolls are to the treasure map? Are they scrolls or manuscripts btw?

And are there any manuscripts that one should collect?

Yes, you will get another level. Any of the awards/books/bonuses from items just add to what you have. You just can't go past lvl 5. One pleasant surprise I noticed was that if you try to read a book and you are already at lvl 5, it doesn't waste the book.
btw, did anyone else have problems with some of the books being labeled one thing and teaching you another?
I bought several of 'heaven's blessing' and ended up with magical might... definitely not the same thing!

Yes, you get a 2nd level then.

These scrolls say => TREASURE MAP, except the last one, this one is named "scroll".

The only manuscripts you should gather are the teleporter scrolls - nothing else.

this is how a teleporter scroll looks, if you open it.

this is how a treasure map looks, if you open it.

Edit:
@Yumadome => yes, I had this changing magical book effect => I could buy sparks and got something else.

Thanks a lot guys! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />

Then I can toss those books and manuscripts I've been saving and make some more room in my inventory. Great!

btw, do you know if that drug-plant of Georges (Druganae) is going to do you any good later on. Can I toss that too?

Yep - get rid of them drugs, or they'll catch ya! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

don't worry, there are of no further use to be carried around - if you have a high level in alchemy, they may be of use placed somewhere you can get back to easily
