What great stuff from people can I pickpocket?

I really would like to know, is it really worth it?

Beyond Divinity is good for pickpocketing. Divine Divinity is not so suited for this. I'd go for stealing in a simple way => take a barrel into your inventory and then open it - shove everything you want in there, leave it open and leave the shop. Then sort out your loot.

Pickpocket is only required for 2 quests:
lvl 1 in Verdistis to steal a necklace in the thieves guild
lvl 2(?) in the poor quarters to cure all 3 plague candidates.

A very important skill in Div is: lockpick (broken in Beyond Divinity).

I have tried to pickpocket the troopers in storm castle with no luck.
But every time I try no matter what. (level 5 pickpocket with some items) it just says fail.

Of course the only way it would even let you try was to be on the outside wall.

I tried the front guards on the outside as well with no luck.

Tried to go invisible and pickpocket with no luck from them.

Waited and then got booted out of the castle got my way back in to try again but still did not work.

Are you just talking about the storm troopers in general like at the barracks and stuff?
