It is just a stategy to get a lot of posts of people saying :

All the people who use to write a great number of posts in the forum are popular.
I am not saying that those who have a small postcount are NOT popular.
Don't misunderstood my words !

To be popular means that there are a lot of people who like you and very few people who don't like you and some of them hate you because they are frustrated and they would like to be like you.
It is why sometimes there are gossips in the forum.

Last year in july another popular member of the forum had the same problem.
This year it is Spick and i did not know about Goldy's problems.

I have exchanged PM with about 30 members in this forum and i never said gossips and nobody said gossips about someone else to me.

I feel very sorry for Spick and Goldy because this kind of things is horrible.
A friend of mine who is a teacher too had the same problem some time ago.
An horrible person manipulate (does this word exist in english ?) a very young student pushing him to accuse my friend of having touched him where you know.
The life of my friend was nearly broken !

How someone can say this kind of things about a person he never saw !
Most of us are living so far from each other.
I don't understand !

People have said bad things about me, I don't like it either. Lots of people as a matter of fact.

She pushed the parents to go to court too !
As she is a social assistant the court believed her and not him !
I am still working with her.
And my friend was paid but he could not teach anymore. He just stayed at home painting and writing.
His wife never believed this story and stayed with him.
Maybe when the boy will be an adult he will say the truth, maybe.

In France there are a lot of stories of that kind, specially when people are getting divorced.
The wife for keeping the child with her and getting a good financial help says that her husband has made bad things.
Sometimes it is true so the judges prefer to condamn the husband without a real proof.


It could happen to me too ! I am very careful.

Both my parents have been teachers at different times in their life, my Mom still is in charge of honor society at her university, and I can just see how this is bad!


The courts need to try to find out what happened!

This story has spread bad vibes in the forum.

I just want to say to this person to give explanations, at least excuses.

In french : "une faute avouée est à moitié pardonnée".

Sometimes people are stupid and they say things they don't really think.

If you are reading my words, at least send a PM to spick, he is feeling so bad !

Barta, I know similar things about what you wrote (your colleague) - from members in my library - from both sides: those who wanted to help and those who were wrongly accused. It's a difficile thing. Specially when second hand persons start to meddle and spread undigested, misunderstood rubbish <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> - the only reliable source is the 1st hand person, no one else.

To get to the root of this only one thing can help IMO: contact the first hand person and therefore get the firsthand info - this can clear up a lot. Silence, rumours, insinuations, gossip, tattle-tales cause a lot of harm - raises distrust and seperates people.

One person acted stupidly making a joke about something which is very awful.
Now this person just has to do private apologises and not make a "public confession".

Everybody makes mistakes, some mistakes are bigger than others and more hurtful.

It reminds me the time when Lucretia was insulted. She needed a lot of time to come back but she came back finaly.
And it is the most important.

Yes that was important. Also important was the messages and the support I had from all the forum members. And it was my fault that I could not understand that joke back then. I am sure Spickey has more serious reasons to be insulted since he understands fine English and all the expressions.

Spickey feels the same about the support given to him. He asked me to pass on his gratitude to the forum members who supported him.

No it was not your fault ! The joke was insulting and you have been hurted.
For spick it is worse than for you so he will need more support than you.

I don't judge the people who have made "the bad jokes" because both of them did not realise that they would hurt badly someone of the forum.

The only thing I can help you with is convincing you not to leave, to many great members have left like BG for several reason concenring the forum or not. I wish all those oldtimers would come back, I bet 99% of these forums would wish the same if you left.

I haven't had any such PM's and if I would have such, It would have upset me to, its a very cowardish thing to do.
