If the mutant in the well does not drop a crystal fragment, it can be obtained by file swapping within the saved game folder (each saved game is a separate subfolder in the '..\Beyond Divinity\savegames' folder).

Note: the world.* files keep track of quest opened locations as well as items on the ground. You must backup your original file at the start of the procedure, and restore it near the end. At this late point in the act there is a lower chance of destroying quest items or breaking quests, but it is still better to limit mixing of files from different saves.

Procedure;

1 ) Download (866 KB) the zipped world file from my save and extract it to a temporary location.

2 ) After killing the mutant in the well, save your game under a new name, lets say 'well 1', for the sake of reference.

3 ) Create a subfolder in this saved game folder, and move that world.x0 file into it. You must restore this file at the end of the procedure.

4 ) Move my world.x0 file from the temporary location into the 'well 1' game folder.

5 ) Re-load the 'well 1' game, so that it is updated. The crystal fragment and unique cutlass dropped by the mutant in my game are now on the ground in yours.

6 ) Pick up the crystal fragment to trigger a cut scene, and take the sword if you wish.

7 ) Optionally, enter the just revealed mine entrance to rescue the other people.

8 ) Either right away (if you want to skip the rescue) or after clearing the lower level and coming back up, save the game with your characters standing away from the mine shaft entrance on the first level of the well. Call this save something like 'well 2'.

9 ) Copy the original world.x0 from the subfolder in the 'well 1' saved game into the 'well 2' saved game, overwriting the file there.

10 ) Re-load the 'well 2' game. The mine shaft and the area containing the prisoner will then be re-sealed.

11 ) Exit the well, and explore the town if you wish, then leave town or try to re-enter the well to continue the game.
