Larian Studios Forums Beyond Divinity (English) Technical Problems Act 2 forest area with fire elements

There is one spot in the lower section (south east) where you go over some strange looking ground almost like metal.

Come across 4 fire elements and start to fight it out. For the 3rd or 4th time my system has just shut down and re-booted.

Any suggestions?

This is the first time that I've had problems.

System is:

P4 3 gHz
1 gig ram
GeForce FX 5200 Series graphics card

That was metal; they were bridges. Do you have the patch installed?

You could try lowering the resolution in the configuration program temporarily, and see if that helps.

Try running past the fire elementals. There are 4 strange candles in a clearing to the south, north of a wall with a gate in it. Clicking on each candle to blow it out will kill one fire elemental, though you will not get experience that way.

Thanks Raze, tried the run away thing and then kept shooting back at them. Finally killed them off and saved right then. Everything is working fine now. Only need the 3 items for the Alchemist to get the next quest. Also I do have the 1.45 patch.
