Hi, this link shows some of the stuff that you
people put on our pc's without asking.

http://members.cox.net/junk666mail/afterrun.jpg

I never approved it, I was never told it was being installed,
I never got a message dialog or anything, why are you installing
software on peoples system without telling them?

Copy Protection has had the opposite of the intended effect.
Legit users are being forced to the warez scene.
Warezers have it easy, legit owners are caused all sorts of trouble.
What's wrong with this picture?

I will have to return my game to the store tomorrow morning
since installing a game using your protection software has put
spyware on my computer ( for which i will once again have to format )

And on top of that, i couldn't even play the game i bought for € 49,99.
All i get is a 10 minute " scanning for cd " resulting in > NOT < finding the
cd.

And yes, i do have Daemon tools, but i also have a 400 Gigs of hard disc space
and a virtual drive of a legally bought game is not against the law.
The virtual drive allows me to quickly install games and quickly insert other
cd's.

I just uninstalled the game and guess what.
The damned things are still there and do not get uninstalled with the scumware
that put them there. Not only that, but I then uninstalled them from device manager
and they returned after 2 reboots without the game being installed at all!
This reminds me of something illegal called spyware ...

So, my conclusion and the conclusion of my board and the conclusion from Slashdot
is quite simple.

Your " protection " thingy is not protecting the game from being cracked, it will get
cracked eventually, all you do is force legal owners of cd's to go to the store and
return their software, not only this, but you do it with software that acts like a virus
and Spyware at thesame time.

"Does your computer run slowly after installing this Game?
That's the new Starforce feature, installing bugs all over your system! Free of charge!"

Congratulations ... ?

1. It hijacks and takes control over your default and rightful Windows drivers.

2. Reports are it has caused big problems with unrelated devices, like the guy who lost all his college work when the StarForce invasion blew out his USB external drive.

3. It installs secretly, and separately from the game.

4. It is not uninstalled with the game that put it there.

5. If you uninstall it manually, it reinstalls itself, like a virus and becomes a permanent part of your O/S running all the time to do who knows what and cause who knows what incompatibilities and errors with other copy protected game, software, devices or drivers.

6. I have read reports that I can not confirm, but strongly believe, that some versions of SafeDisc falsely identify the StarForce "driver" as a virtual device driver which is blacklisted by SafeDisc. The result is the other SafeDisc game fails to run because of it's conflicting copy protection scheme. What are the odds that your average user is going to be able to track that down? All you here is, "My game won't run. Says I have virtual software and I don't!"

I'm returning this game, that's for sure, and i discourage anyone to buy it because of this.

Thx to this " genious " protection system i'll be formatting my pc and buying sacred, Or i'll wait for W.O.W
