The resetting of the keys happened in-game, i forgot where i picked up nr.5, i did put em in my inventory... Was that just something i should not have done?
Is there a reason for it to happen?
Just to let you know, i did click on the nr.5 key so it shows the message, but the levels are still locked in BF (except nr.1&nr.2).

No, there shouldn't be such a hassle, I agree <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" /> => I can only tell you that in earlier versions, when the BF keys did not disappear upon act change, the dungeon exits acted strangely => some where open, if you had the previous act keys, some not. So, letting them disappear (patch) was better. You can put them into your inventory, as long as you activate them via click - act change was not so good for opening. I'm puzzled by your problem, didn't have it in my case.
I think it is from the lava area, the area where the DK warns you there is gonna be trouble
Ah, these "odd gems" are fire elemental eggs, they hatch in your inventory. And upon act change they are useless => "don't use". In case you read Redfingrix' book about a "nasty hot surprise", you might have known?
and i dont know how you feel about it but i have not EVER come across such a bug ridden game!
Difficult for me to judge - as I have played the game very often now and saw the progress towards bugs from 1.0 on (first in German, then in English). There was a fall-back (? correct word?) when the 1.40-1.42 patches came out: BF where changed in a large manner and lead to a lot a problems, 1.43 did not allow (partial) access to the BF in Act 3 and 4. This was due to Larians wanting to include a lot of suggestions gamers wished for and done a bit hasty. 1.44 corrected this, but the BF are still not perfect. I'm still hoping for a new patch for lockpick, quest bugs and a somewhat stubborn quest log that reacts too slowly.
In fact, I am puzzled by a some bugs gamers encountered here, because I did not have them in my latest versions <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" /> Specially the Bafflimiri dungeon not unlocking, the hanging cut scene with the imp hero - not being able to get a quest in Act 4, crashes, shut downs etc. I liked the linearity idea (I come from the adventure games side) - but upon reading the help-section, I see the problems some gamers have with this.

No, I don't - not to the extent as described here - otherwise I wouldn't be able to scroll and hover my mouse over unlocked dungeons to check where I have to go next.
I find this to be a particulary annoying and stupid bug! I agree that it might be handy, but its just soo stupid to witness every time!
I reacted differently - I laughed my head off when Kiyana shot her arrows with empty hands <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" /> - then I put her into combat mode. You see, in order not to let her kill accidently innocent creatures, I had her in peace mode and dragged her along with the mouse. But sometimes, I had to search for my DK, who was in aggressive mode and got into trouble, so I was glad, she could defend herself. Or I had her in sneak mode, an enemy spotted her - and I was far away wrestling with my DK to stop him committing suicide. It was like taking care of a bag of fleas <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />
