True Shot is broke, and does not give any damage bonus. You can use
iZakaroN's SaveEditor (or from
Kiya's site, with description) to remove any skill points you put in this.
Augment Damage only works for melee attacks.
If you have or learn level 1 in Sword Expertise or Augment Damage (the starting skills for the male warrior), the next time you save and load the game you will have level 2 in these skills.
There are many more potentially powerful swords in the game than daggers, and even with Assassin's Kiss maxed, swords can do more damage. There are only a couple unique daggers that are always in the game, otherwise you have to rely on random drops or purchases. Of course if you are not having trouble with daggers, there is no need to switch to swords, especially since the game tends to get easier as it progresses.
