Ok...I have been watching "The Open" this week and it's got me thinking,Just what is the best all round Golf game for PC??
I used to play PGA Tour on the Megadrive years ago and it was very addictive, i have not played any golf game on the PC, so i am hoping to hear some good reviews and i will go get the best of them.

Hey Spicko,

I have tiger woods 2003 for the PC so I'd imagine the 2004 one though better would play very similar.

It looks great and I love the shot take system using the mouse (true swing they call it) where you basically swing the club by pulling the mouse back then following through. Works very well but there's one big flaw in the game that stopped me playing it.

It's too dang easy. I could hit perfect straight shots 95% of the time !It's not because of the mouse swing...it's because they didn't allow for anything like an ounce of randomness in a players swing. So where you aim that's exactly where the ball will go. Real golfers aren't machines with pin point accuracy, but the game fails on what was for me the most important aspect.

So I reckon that 2004 version will play the same.

Yeh i've used true swing before but i still prefered the old way with the Gauge bar thingy.

You can use the 3 click or 2 click gauge system if you want. You're given the option to pick...

The career mode and amount of courses and tournaments is good. But it's too easy to win all the tournaments...even easier with the click gauge.

Haven't played any of the new links games, though I did play 2001 MS links, and it was terrible...all you could do was play rounds of golf...no competitions or nothing. They must have fixed that with the new ones...surely!

I have tiger woods 2004 for the PC and it rocks, though the graphics are better on the XBOX version.

If you own the 2004 version you can patch it up-to-date but it's relatively bug free out of the box
