Does anyone know why The merchants rarely have anything new? The best Items I have found so far I got when both DK and Hero were lvl 10 and under. The only other items I see that apprear to be really cool are for lvl 40 or higher characters. Some weigh to much to carry until my guys lvl up. My guys are not higher than lvl 18- so what good does that do me now?? Is there anywhere I can store these for later? (although I am half-afraid that I will forget there are there!)

The merchants in the Battlefields change their inventory. When I re-entered the BF they had new stuff - sometimes even during the time I was there. Try hopping in and out of the BF and check the traders then

No, you can't store anything for keeps out of your inventory. As soon as you change the act, the stuff in the BF is gone, as they are generated anew as soon as you enter the new act. You can store stuff within an act => at the BF.

what about this: you store suff, until you're nearly at the end of the act, pick the stuff up then and place it into the new act? Though, items requiring your chars to be >lvl 40 will not be of much use. I didn't level up in the BF and was lvl 39 at the end of the game.

Kade, what version of the BD patch do you have installed? I know that there was an early version of the patch that didn't update the bf merchants' inventories on a regular basis. I had that same problem when I first started playing BD with patch v1.32, which was the latest patch at that time. I would recommend installing patch v1.45, if you don't already have it. Good Luck!

Wow!! Level 40 and not going to the BF. I'm impressed. I finished at level 33 and went through almost all the BF's.

So, what is the secret getting to level 40 without the DF's?

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those I had to kill, because they pissed me off.

OOps- I goofed a bit... I did not mean lvl 40 for the character, I meant 40 in strength or agility. Big difference. I was really tired when I typed that. I was trying to find better items that my dk and hero could use, but the only good stuff I found needed strength or agility at 40 or higher. I am at lvl 20, dk at strength 35 and hero at 22 I think. so I'd have a long time to wait if I bought an item from a merchant to keep until I could use it.

You could try jumping back and forth between BF and normal game. This will always reset BF-trader's inventory. Look for items with several charm-slots and Ydra/Joph-charms to raise your strength and agility.

has anyone gotten above level 35 in-game?
i was able to finish the game at 35 1/2 level, but that was with all the BFs and killing a bunch of NPCs.
after going through the citadel and doing all the quests, i then took off the armor and let everyone attack me. (in hindsight, this would have meant i DIDN'T have to use my pickpocketing - they'd simply have dropped everything when dead anyway!! )
i did the same in act III. just prior to entering the catacombs, kill all the 'citizens'. (they live in a perverse society, so you're doing them a favor!). reputation doesn't seem to matter, and it's not decreased in any case.
also, i was very careful in how i did the BFs because of the level differences.
the only thing i can think of that would have provided (some) additional experience would be killing all the frogs, tibars, etc. i couldn't do this, so shy of killing the rats at act I beginning, i killed nothing else animal wise.

I finished the game at level 33. I also took off my citadel armor, so that I could kill all the guards in the citadel. I was hoping that they would have the necessary keys for the locked 'occupied door' or the locked chests that I found. No such luck, though. I had intended on laying waste to the temple as well, but I entered the catacombs before doing so, and I could not return to the surface. I had hoped that when I finished exploring the church catacombs, that I would be able to return to the surface, and again no such luck. I didn't feel like reloading in order to kill the citizens, and having to redo the catacombs, though. I just wanted to proceed to act 4 at that point.
