janggut, i think you can find a lot of mods at
http://nwvault.ign.comwomble, if you decide on playing a shifter, consult the shifter guide first at
www.gamefaqs.com you really have to watch a lot of things when playing a shifter because of the diversity of shapes and what shapes merge what items. the first time, i was really overwhelmed and was at a loss. it was at my second try that i began to appreciate the joys of the shifter class. nothing beats the feeling of transforming into a giant minotaur wielding a flaming axe or becoming an undead (vampire, risen lord, spectre). i haven't gotten into the higher epic shapes yet as they require a lot of wisdom and very high levels of shifter. such are very hard to attain in the hotu campaign.
nonetheless, the other shapes are a ton of fun, though in one big battle, i shifted into a risen lord carrying a nasty scythe with the evil plan of turning all my enemies (and there are a lot of them) into dust. instead, i was the one turned by an enemy cleric. my risen lord went completely nuts and he ran from one corner of the screen to the other. it's good that my henchmen was able to carry on the fight (one of the few times that henchmen served their purpose) until the turn undead spell wore off on me. i turned into a minotaur and hunted that cleric down. grrr!!!
now playing a dwarven fighter/monk with weapon specialization in unarmed strike. he is a killer! soloed all of chap. 1 and most of chap. 2. (ahhh, the joys of powergaming ) had to take on henchmen in the latter part of chap 2 just to get through those mithral golems who hit so damn hard and also a certain dragon.
i'm planning to solo chap. 3, but my heart's yearning wouldn't allow me to leave my true love behind. sigh, why do i have a weakness for elven ladies wearing breastplate?
