Is this crash is when the game itself is loading, or a particular save? Has the game loaded properly at all, or have you just installed it (and maybe the
patch)?
Are you shutting down all non-essential programs (especially anti-virus) before trying to start the game?
Do you have any video filters installed? At least the
ReClock DirectShow Filter needs to be disabled to play the game videos. It sounds like you are getting past the intro video, though...
What resolution do you have the game at? Try lowering it, or set the game and desktop resolution to be the same.
If you run dxdiag (click Start | Run, type in dxdiag and hit Enter), does it report any problems?
Have you checked for updated video drivers, etc? With Windows XP, the latest service pack and critical updates can help with BD problems.
