too bad because TOEE was a very promising game. it just didn't deliver enough on its promise.

I think in it's current state with the latest patch it holds up pretty well. The great combat system kept me playing, and only had one crash in the couple of months I played it.

I've had KOTOR for PC since I believe May or so and I still haven't even installed it!

I have games I'm trying to finish and am not sure how KOTOR would run on this old rig.

It always seems that games made by Troika always need a few patches on it before it's pure goodness.

Arcanum and Fallout 2 (well, FO2 was made by many who went later on to Troika) are pure example of this that I've played. Yet to play TOEE, but have heard about its issues when it was released -- and heard people say how much better it is w/ each patch.

I played both Arcanum and Fallout unpatced and didn't have any problems (I remember... Don't know why I didn't pach Arcanum, but I played Fallout on our old computer, who had a really slow conection...)

Troika's not known for technical issues w/ the Engine.

Troika's known for more quest bugs than anything. Some quests are broken and can't be finished w/out the patch.

Also, in FO2, before one of the patch, saves could corrupt on you.

Never notied that... Exept one quest in (what's it called again?) New California Republic, or something like that... Used to be Shady Sands anyway. There was a guy with a bomb in a factory there. Whatever you did the bomb exploded (I think you could convince the gou NOT to comitt suicide though...), and you had to fix a computer in order to get the factory to work again. If you did this you got 3500 exp and two books (I think...). Then you fixed it AGAIN and you got 3500 exp and two books. Then you fixed it YET AGAIN and you got 3500 exp and two books. Then you fixed it AGAIN and you got 3500 exp and... well, you get the picture. (Yes, I used this... But not much, just enought to be able to win the fighting contest in San Fran... I got slayer (all melee hits are crits <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />. Suddenly, melee wasn't that bad at all. But on the other hand, you had snoper by then...) among other things...)
