The game won't let you do things out of order. The easist rule is: if it's far too hard, you're probably in the wrong place. I'd suggest leaving Stormfist Castle to later in the game, at least level 20. That place is a little harder to back track from if your too young. So keep a seperate save before you enter any major area and don't save over it until you're safely out.
