Found Why it didn't work. The site uses ActiveX drivers that aren't in firefox for the obvious reason. So just downloaded the "open in IE" extension. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

When you make download extensions or themes for firefox, they show the .extensions of the files, just look for it at your firefox folder and copy it.
I just don`t tell you right now in what exact folder has the extensions and themes cause i`m not at my computer now. sorry. But i think this tip can help you, if don`t at my next visit here i can tell you if anybody don`t tell you before. Be cool. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

Thanks Shyon, but my prob is this, I have a boss who just discovered surfing and thus goes to all sorts of places, some I rather not mention, so yes I know FF is better, but on the other hand it is a real pain trying to get it to work with banks as they use lots of java, and I cannot for the world of me, find the settings that let me into the login page at work ..... I got it figured and working fine at home .... but can't remember how I did that .... ergo my question how can I take my home firefox settings to work and not just the extensions but everything user preferences etc <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/xmassmiley.gif" alt="" />

@ Mea => You will have to run both in your situation. Firefox does slightly limit the sites accessible due to its lack of ActiveX support. In particular, many complex applications, including intranet or financial applications, may require using Internet Explorer. In that case, consider using Firefox for general surfing and Internet Explorer for office-critical and financial applications. You can't compare your home browser settings with your work browser settings? Or copy your home browser folders and paste and replace at your work browser folder? Or at your work is missing the proxy configuration or something like that? Maybe a port? Or administrator permission to change configurations?

Info on where to find your profile folder, etc. from Firefox. I hope this helps. It is your profile you need to move from 1 PC to another IIRC.
"How To Manage Profiles
Mozilla Firefox stores all your personal settings, such as bookmarks, passwords and extensions, in a profile. The profile is stored on your hard drive in a profile folder.
If you run into problems using Firefox (e.g. problems starting after installing an extension, or other features not functioning properly), the first thing you're usually asked to do in the tech support forum is to create a new profile. This tutorial will show you how to do that. Locate your profile folder
It's not required to know where your profile folder is located in order to create a new one. However, it's good to know it anyway, for example, if you want to make a backup of your settings.
On Windows XP/2000, the path is usually %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\, where xxxxxxxx is a random string of 3 characters. Just browse to C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ and the rest should be obvious.
On Windows 95/98/Me, the path is usually C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\
On Linux, the path is usually ~/.mozilla/firefox/xxxxxxxx.default/
On Mac OS X, the path is usually ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/xxxxxxxx.default/
%AppData% is a shorthand for the Application Data path on Windows 2000/XP. To use it, click Start > Run..., enter %AppData% and press Enter. You will be taken to the "real" folder, which is normally C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Application Data. Create a new profile
In order to create a new profile, you use the Profile Manager. To start the Profile Manager, follow these steps:
1. Close Firefox completely (select File > Exit from the main menu of Firefox). 2. Select Start > Run... from the Windows Start menu. 3. Enter firefox.exe -profilemanager and press OK.
On other operating systems, start Firefox with the the -profilemanager switch, e.g. ./firefox -profilemanager (this assumes that you're in the firefox directory).
You should now see the Profile Manager window, shown in the screenshot to the right.
From the Profile Manager you are also able to remove and rename profiles.
Click on the Create Profile... button to start the Create Profile Wizard. Click Next and enter the name of the profile, e.g. your name or something descriptive.
You can also choose where on the disk you want the profile to be stored, which is useful if you plan on exporting your settings to another computer or setup in the future.
Finally, click Finish to have Firefox create the new profile. You should now be taken back to the Profile Manager and the newly created profile should be listed. Select it and click Start Firefox. That's it!
You are now running Firefox with the new profile, which means all settings are reset to default. If you want to switch back to your old profile, just start the Profile Manager again (instructions above) and select the old profile.
You can also have Firefox start a selected profile automatically, so you don't have to pick one each time the browser is launched. Do this by checking the Don't ask at startup option."

But once Firefox becomes widely used, or if I should say, someone might actually be bothered then to exploit that as well.
Pity I can't use it in my job. I've enough poxy browers on this machine as it is!!
