BF quest items should show up with the alt key, AFAIK, unless perhaps they are obscured behind a wall, or something. I have not been doing the BF dungeons, so never got a quest for a rune stone. BF quest items and monsters are placed randomly on the third levels of the dungeons, so it is possible for any particular dungeon to have none, one or multiple items or boss monsters.
