About the colours there is no choice.
I understood this very recently. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" />

Red for the boss.
Blue for the administrators.
Green for the moderators.
White for the other ones.
The only exception is Rat who gets white instead of blue.
