Larian Studios Forums Beyond Divinity (English) Technical Problems Skills not learning question

Hi.

I have a problem (I think). I talked to Taxlehix and learned all the 4 skills that he was teaching (level 10) but when I go to my skills menu, it doesn't show what I have learned at all, it is still the same as before. Is this normal and if not, how can I fix this?

Are you checking your secondary skill menu? When you learn a skill, you get the ability to put skill points into it, but it is not usable until you do so. Open the skill pane (default hotkey k, or use the icon under the character portraits) and browse the available skills. The ones you just learned should show up, and you can distribute skill point to those you wish to try.

Ahh, thanks! I thought that by learning a skill at level 10, I would get 10 levels of that skill immediately. So that number 10 probably just specifies the maximum number of skills I can put into that skill?

Correct; learning a skill to a certain level specifies the maximum number of skill points you can put into it.
