rince ol' buddy, better an old git than an old fart. the former is annoying but the latter stinks!

wow! i love this thread for the fact that 'old timers' speak up what's in their minds & tell us young ones what they want in their old days. please keep it coming. i need all the wisdom u can throw at me. just not the piss pot.

anyways, rince's quoting of other person's works are very good & should be in consideration as well as it points out very good perception of old age.

not trying to bribe that certain old git that has the power to confer that prestigious award , i'd like to mention a bit about some of my relatives who are well into their 70's.

an uncle who's 74 is actively doing church work & travels out to smaller towns in almost daily basis for fellowships, financial management & advice (he assists in the accounts management), visits (folks that need help), sending stuff sometimes, etc. he even manages to cut grass around his place (the land's about 3-4 acres) almost every day with a brush cutter & do all that church work. of course the wife supports him fully in what he does, even helping him do all that work.

another one; an aunt. she's 76 & she has the house to herself. all her children live elsewhere & though they always visit her a few times a week, she always prefer them to be out of her hair as she's fiercely independent. the only time she needs her kids is when she needs rides to places. otherwise, nobody is to keep her from her daily work; house chores (minor) & plants(indoor, outdoor, bulbs, orchids, etc). she's a green finger & loving it. my dad learnt green finger skills from her, in fact. she's also a frequent traveller & often go over seas. last year she went to china, vietnam, england, & other places i couldn't remember. if u think her travels are just sitting on planes & stay at hotels, all on the butt, u're wrong. her legs are still strong & in vietnam, she told us she climbed up a huge statue(carved out of a hill) & managed to arrive at the 'arm'.

looking at them, i hope my old age will as just as fun & adventurous. & these are but two!
