Good graffiti on the backs of warehouses etc can liven up a dull railway journey. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> It's the tasteless, talentless morons who deface otherwise attractive public places that I would put the squeeze on.
However, in fairness to their frustrated little souls I would be prepared to hand out suspended sentences.... (in other words I'd hang them).

Seriously though, the business of officially sending people off to kill each other in wars makes me more uneasy than topping the occasional criminal. I would be extremely restrictive and selective about the circumstances in which it could be applied, but I think that I would still have it on the statute books.
There are some people in jail here who simply tore up their membership card of the human race with their actions. Yet we prefer to simply hide them away for the rest of their lives rather than say that they are surplus to civilisation. Let's not kid ourselves that our prisons are capable of reforming all their inmates or redressing the hideous wrongs done to the victims in any meaningful way.
The vast majority of prisoners, including murderers, are worth some compassion and understanding. But some aren't. Many people would not wish to be the ones that have to make the choice as to which is which - and fair enough too.
