thanks

new topic is: are newspapers still informing people or are they just good to buy for making fires in winter (or playing with the dog if you like it better)???...

They're for news (something new, something unknown). But... what are news? Or to be exact, which news are relevant? What is the intention of news? According to rainbow press => scandals, emotions, petty stuff, sex and stirring the gut instinct. This informs and sells, hm?
According to serious press (do they exist?) => politics and local stuff, sprinkled with a bit of culture. Informs, yes... and then?

I have given up reading newspapers, I leave this to my colleagues and they inform me <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shame.gif" alt="" /> - I use the internet sites, where I find... errhm... news. Question cycle as above starts again, but my wastepaper basket for old paper doesn't fill up that fast, sparing me the way to deposit it. Local township news => internet, is faster.
