I don't read or buy newspapers (or tabloids) anymore. I get my news either from the internet or the tv.

A good few years ago when I was buying them though I would actually only buy the 'crappy' tabloids because like Kris said, they were 'infotainment', they were more entertaining than the stuffy-serious-long-winded-spiel of the more 'upmarket' papers. Basically any broadsheet paper, which are a nightmare to read in the first place as they are so cumbersome.

However, the choice is there for whoever wants them, serious paper or no, not everyone gets to browse the internet all day. I think the paper is the traditional work lunch pass-time for many jobs, and most are quite informitive.
