very true... there is an Intel/ Microsoft collution for world domination! well as making beliving people there is no others solution that their own is a way to (at least ) try to dominate the world... at least the computers' world (what is not exactly the same, even I, I'm willing to admit it!)
for coming back on the linux and compatibility thing... it remembers me another debate (an older one this one): that was all the silly things said about PROLOG language (programming in logic, and complete name says exactly what it is) that it wasn't fitting for devlopping big applys etc etc (blablablabla)...
as a matter of fact the debate is dead when Prologia (sorry this page is in french but it shouldn't be too hard to find there english page from there) has found a way to developp very good and big applys with Prolog...
