Did you notice that Western Australia recently ‘detuned’ their racial vilification laws with regard to a few terms? I can’t remember the full story, but it was decided that ‘wog’ and ‘ding’ (a term for Italians) could be used in an affectionate manner and weren’t necessarily automatically abusive.
