Since I live out in the country 9 miles from the nearest shopping, public transportation is usless to me. When I lived in NYC I never even learned how to drive; I went everywhere on the subways.
A grid system works better than a hub with spokes.
Free transfers from one bus or train to another are a big help.
Clean and well maintained=important.
Crime is an issue in inner city--needs to be addressedwhere needed.
Handicapped access=important.


The question is not, Can they reason? nor, Can they talk? but, Can they suffer?
