The voice of the Death Knight in that stupid modulated voice ruined it for me. Do you know who his voice reminds me of? Ever watch The Mask. Remember when Dorian (the bad guy) puts on the mask? *That* voice. It's driving me nuts. I actually have to uninstall this game and toss it away all because of that voice. If that thing is going to be with me the whole game, forget it. Back to Sacred (far superior IMO).

as i begin to really hate Sacred (no good story line, no dialogs, no intersting quests... no tacticals fights, imo)... i can hardly agree with you
ok you're right no one has ever fell in love with the DK voice...
but he speaks not so much after all...

Like GoldyLocks said if the voice bothers ya turn off the sound. You are going to miss out on a traffic game all over the voice of the DK.
I hope you change your mind and give the game a chance for I think you will really like it.
Good Luck either way.

I can hardly believe that someone who pays money for the game will simply stop playing because of one lousy voice that gets better after a while and which you don't hear that much anyway. But hey, your loss. Thanks for sharing.

I'm really sorry, I almost hate to say this, but I didn't like the new voice of the DK as well. I wished I could change it to the old one.
Eventually I've accustomed myself to it, so now it's okay.
I think this is a lesson learned for Larian Studios :
1. You cannot make it perfect for *everyone* .
2. Sometimes it's better to stick with what you want to do and let yourself not influenced too much (apart from really useful suggestions).
About Sacred : It's an Action-RPG, and in that case it's not comparable to , wich is not that much action-oriented than Sacred.

The Deathknights voice is terrible at the beginning, especially when he switches to his old voice suddenly, but as people said it gets alot better. At the beginning, the voice actor's timing is all wrong and emphasizes all the wrong words, but the problems go away eventually.

It makes you think about why Archdemon Samuel took his voice away ("Shut up forever now, your voice sucks...".

Oh! And there's a reason the DK can speak to the human! It's part of the curse, it makes the human go crazy.

At first, I dound the DKs voice to be a pretty big turn off. I thought it sounded like a cartoon hobgoblin. I was thinking the something like the voice of the Djinn from the movie Wishmaster would be more appropriate for the DK. However, I either got used to the voice or it improved because I didn't mind it later in the game. Some voices I thought were quite appropriate, like the ghost Edmund in the Prison who sort of whispers in desperation.

Yes, Edmond's voice and the one of the skull ... I didn't like them as well, compared to the Demo versions of the voices.

Well I played, I finished, and I tried starting it again but I don't think I'll ever finish it a second time. Not because of the voice though. It's not really a game with a legit' purpose. All it is is a guy that has been bound to an evil creature and he's tossed himself headlong into the fray so he can save his own [nocando]. DD had a much better story because you were supposed to rid the world of evil and so forth. I think the Deathknight would be pretty bad-[nocando] if he would say more evil things like: "I'm going to skin you alive and eat you. then I'm going to make something cool with your bones" or "I'm going to chop that imp into little pieces, use the remains to stuff his mother's corpse, and then I'm going to make the end result into a salad for the Shaman because he really pisses me off" or even "If we see an deathknight in this patrol area, kill it. I need a new kidney".

Hi DrRed;
Welcome to the forum.
To bad you didn't try the demo first.
I hated the voice at first also, still do.
I still played the game at least 3 times.
Sorry to hear you are leaving.
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those I had to kill, because they pissed me off.

There are people in Real Life that have bad voices. I mean really ugly. Like mine for instance. Maybe Death Knight is one of those cases. I like it. It makes it more real.

Hi. I thought the dk voice was really bad too. It didn't seem to get much better, but I just got less bugged by it. Maybe because there were other things to get bugged by... like bugs..
BD isn't a great game, and its not in the class of DD, but its still better than some of the competition, even though the voices are pretty cruddy. Just try and enjoy the good bits
