Help! I think Rimmer was killed by an orc or a beast before I arrived at Glenboros. My game map shows him to be in the brewery, but there's no one in the brewery except a common dwarven woman. I looked everywhere in Glenboros - no Rimmer. However, I did see a pile of gold an a chicken leg outside of the brewery against the north wall when I arrived (teleported in from Dwarven Halls). I think he got eaten.

Anyway, think I'll need a game patch or something to allow me to finish this quest. Have progressed way beyond going back and restarting a previously saved game (already have assembled the Council of 7 and proceeding with the blessing of divine divinity).

Are you at the right house? Dwarven village map

A possible solution;
Reviving dead NPCs

You can swap data files from a save where he was alive to get him back temporarily, but restoring the original file would eliminate the experience from completing the quest (it would complete the quest in the log, though).
See the post 'Rimmer is missing', quoted near the end of the post;
FIX for broken Imp Council Member quest

If you just need some of Rimmer's ale for the easter egg area, you get get them using;
Lost Items - guide and directory of inventory files

Yes, I am at the right house - can't miss it since it's flagged.

Can't restore an old file since I'm way past this stage of the game and Rimmer's dead in all my old files as well.

I'll try downloading the zip file with Rimmer's ale - but why Rimmer's ale? Won't any Dwarven ale do? It seemed to work when I just had some dwarven ale on me and gave it to Gregor the mayor of Glenboros to get him to give me the password for the dwarven mines.

The large bottles of dwarven ale are from Rimmer (he gives you 5 bottles when you bring him a message from his brother in the dwarven halls, or you can buy them through speech options, if he was alive). The mayor may accept other dwarven ale, but AFAIK the easter egg area requires those from Rimmer. I don't think the same type can be found randomly, but I'm not sure.

See this screenshot of the eater egg items.

These look like ordinary large bottles of dwarven ale that you can find in any inn. will try with these and let you know if it works.

If not, I will download the zip file.

thanks!

I've been trying to find Rimmer again. Found him about three times before his
brother told me to say hi. Since then, he's totally missing. I've searched and searched for him. Welcome. Thedot Godspeed, ladyterry [color:"blue"]

It seems like he disappears once you get the quest from Strobur to find his brother. Ladyterry - Where did you find him the first time? Was he in the brewery?

On another note, you can get the easter egg if you use the large, fat sand colored bottles of dwarven ale - you DON't need Rimmer - go to any tavern and get some, but it has to be the large fat bottles - not the skinny ones, or the red ones.

Rimmer only disappears if he was killed by orks nearby - if there were some left.

He's normally in his house - or some gamers found him outside where the large group was listening to the town cryer.

Thanks, I think that's what happened.

OK, so I can't solve that quest, but as it turned out, didn't need Rimmer anyway. Got by with ale from another source.

Yes, just standing there. Very easy to find until his brother gave me the quest Kiya, thanks, I'll look around for him.

Found Rimmer just standing in brewery! Don't know what happened---I'd searched for him many times and he was not there. [color:"blue"]

Well he does nip into his own stuff
and stumble around from time to time.
