I made it to the end, right? My character is a super-tough Level 30 something survivor, so I came in with a whole bunch of steel scorpions to slaughter The Demon of Lies. Lots of running around in the haze of battle and the dust settles..blah blah yadda yadda...BUT! The Lord of Chaos is in the child & just lying there on the stone table, I can't do anything to it, it acts like some plastic prop! & the obviously dead Demon of Lies figure with his arms outstretched, his eyes and mouth wide open, his chest RIPPED open with red hellish light pouring out of it & the corpse is NOT fading away, just stuck in that moment! I ran all the way back to Zandalor & Arhu (That's the cat's name, right?) & they don't act like anything new has happened! I ran back to the scene but nothing there was nothing new around! I have destroyed all of the evil henchmen (aside from a difficult red (or whatever color it is) dragonrider with no steel scorpions to back me up..*Sigh* Can someone please help me out here?

Did you get the cut secene?
Once the Demon of Lies dies, the game will end and you'll witness the final cinematic sequence. The demon and the Sword of Lies are sucked into the abyss, but what happens with the baby? Do you kill it or carry it away from the dungeon? We'll have to wait for Divine Divinity 2 to find out.
If you did not get the cinematic sequence then I do not know what happened. If you saved before the battle you may need to try again.
Or maybe Raze or Lynn has a better answer for you.

It is actually one of the more common bugs. The game tends to freeze LOC at random if the player kills him with scorpions. The only solution is to retry the fight from an earlier save. It may freeze again or go on. A 100% sure thing is to kill LOC without using scorpion traps.

I believe this bug is fixed in the latest patch. If you still have the current game going, you can try using an area effect spell that does not need a target to see if you can force the death animation to end. With any 2 of Frost on a weapon, Stun on a weapon or the passive Stun skill, enemies could sometimes hang in mid death animation and not drop any loot, or give experience, IIRC. Using Hell Spikes would force the end of the animation in this case, but I don't know if it also works on the Demon of Lies when killed by a scorpion or summoned creature. BTW, you find out what happened to the babe in Beyond Divinity, no need to wait for DD2.

I don’t think the Bug was fixed in the 1.34 patch. I have played several times and if I kill The Lord of Chaos in any way other than Melee the game freezes up on me. Not totally freezing up…I can still walk around and such…but the cut scene never happens. The Lord of Chaos freezes up only. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Strange... it is listed as being fixed in the 1.33 patch;

Crap! I saved after he was dead at first cuz I was so glad that I had killed him and didn't know what was going on. I couldn't really kill him any other way, so I used a crapload o' scorpions...*Sighs and massages her forehead* Thanks for the welcome by the way, I'm really glad to be here..I can't download that wonderful patch, though..I'm at a library computer..Our internet no longer works and we can't afford it anymore, anyway..Could I download it from a friend's computer and put it on a disk or a floppy or something? I really need that patch! :[

You can download the 10MB patch on a different computer to transfer to your own, but a CD-RW disk or USB key drive would be much easier than using floppies. If floppies are your only option, you can use a physical file splitter, such as Chainsaw, to divide the patch into about 8 floppy sized pieces. It is the final hit that matters when killing the Demon of Lies, so you could simply try again using fewer scorpions, save when his hit points get low, and try to land the last blow yourself. Alternately, you could use iZakaroN's SaveEditor (or from Kiya's site, with description) to boost your character enough to kill the DoL without requiring scorpions. The save editor is only 110KB, so could be easily transferred by floppy. If you are going to replay DD, I would still try to get the patch, though.

If you make it to the point where the dol is about to die. Try this. Use the Fade from sight spell, and get close enough to use your special move. he wont see you and you can kill fairly easy.

Unfortunately, SaberatStoor's character is a survivor; their special move is to sneak, rather than the warrior's spin attack (mages can swap places with another creature onscreen).

You could just download the Bink player to watch the final videos (scene2.bik on the play disk, in the '..\disc3\static\' folder). I would still try to get the patch if you plan on replaying, though. Extro sceneYou see the demon of lies dying. In fact you see the mutiliated body of janus ripped into pieces and the leftover, the sword of lies, remains. It comes closer and tries to seduce the hero. The hero is tempted to take it but refuses and sends it back to hell away from the mortal plane. Then the hero hears the cries of the baby. Knowing that it is the lord of chaos inside the child he/she draws the dagger to kill it. In the hero's moral struggle to kill a neborn innocent child the scene fades out. Much later you see the hero walk out victorious into the swamp area. He carries something. Loot? The child? You don't know for sure... Somewhere on a distant hill Arhu and Zandalor watch you coming when suddenly the statue you lifted up in the sky while entering the katacombs of aleroth comes down finally...(side joke, nothing more)</span>

Um... actually, that was meant as advice, not an offer. Short of mailing a CD, there is not much I can do from here. If you can not find a friend or co-worker to help, check with local computer/game stores; if you provide the CD-R some should be willing to download and burn the patch for you.
