You can use the Banish spell to get rid of Iona's pet (Corrina teaches this as a reward after you successfully help her summon a demon). Alternately, you can cast Aura of Command on up to 5 more summoned or resurrected creatures (whatever level of the skill you have learned) to remove the pet.
There are a few creatures that do not die when you sleep, such as the skeleton summoner under the warrior's guild.

Some people prefer the Larian armour because it is invisible on the character.

The models in DD are 2D, so every unique character or piece of equipment needs to have a series of animations created for it. This is a time consuming process, which takes up a lot of disk space.
Beyond Divinity has a 3D character system, so can have may more unique types of characters, and equipment that looks different when worn. Despite having much more of the dialog spoken in BD, the install size dropped from 3 CDs in DD to 2 CDs in BD, largely due to much smaller file size for the 3D characters and items.
A few people have posted that they preferred some of the NPC characters' looks in DD to their own character, or that they wanted some of the things they had (like a cloak).
