the statement that quest items can't be sold is inaccurate. there are some quest items that can be, and i think if you find the item before you recieve the quest you can sell. I did this one time in act 2 with the rabbits white rags quest in the battle fields. i found them and sold them before getting the quest. i hunted everywhere for them, and eventually figured out that i sold them.
