I always wonder why rogues are allowed to take a lawful allignment...

Well, look at "Robin Hood".
You might think his actions chaotic, yet he followed the standards of Richard which is more Lawful than Chaotic.

I guess. He's not much of a thief though. He gave it to the poor. More like a benevalent(sp?) guardian of the people really. I'd class him almost as a lawful good ranger.

Very, very true and that is a good point, but he did take / steal.
Isn't that more of a Rogue act?

Lets class him as a ranger/rogue then...

Right....at this time i have headed into the Blacklake district to get the last creature part, but, having looked in my Journal i see that way back in the Beggars i still have not been able to find Walter?......he was somewhere in the N-E of the district, but i'm buggered if i could find the little git?...any ideas?
Another question....I have still got Tomi Undergallows with me...should i stick with him,or should i keep changing my Henchmen?

Tomi's the best if you're a Fighter. Sharna's an alright second, especially with her Bard's song, but she can't handle locks and traps quite like Tomi can.

Perhaps i'll try Sharna another time.
Any takers on my earlier question regarding Missing Walter in the Beggars Nest??

There are 2 abandoned houses on the beggar's nest map. Check each one. Failing that he's the guy in the abandoned warehouse. If you've done the beggar's nest completely you will not be able to get in there unfortunately. You went through the cult house I take it? (you have to use the wardstone to get through the door)
If so then bugger it. The quest will dissapear from your log after chapter one anyway. (unless you're a perfectionist like me and have to do every quest)

Sharwyn blows as a henchman. She never uses her bardsong and continually casts cantrips.
Linu is good. She can cast a lot of good buffs and handle herself well in combat. For gods sake don't take bloddynock!

There's an AI mod you can download from sorcerer's place that will allow you to access your henchman's inventory, make them use their special abilities in combat (spells etc.) and has no other effect on the game at all. Oh, it does make monsters more challenging but that's cool too right?

Its listed under Henchman Inventory & Battle AI here

Have fun!

Try looking for Walters in a warehouse....

Somewhere around the Beggars Nest, Graveyard, Crypt area. Can't remember exact path...

Edit: whoops beaten by Womble's post. But, yes, he's in the warehouse near some guy called Drawl and maybe also a Sword Coast Boy.

spick

Walters is in the Sword Coast Boys Warehouse.

He's locked up and you have to clear the area before he has the nerve enough to leave.

Some guard he is.

Is that what you were looking for spick?

(How the hell ...)

This is the deal:

I am playing a human bard/fighter (1 lvl bard, four lvls fighter, are going to multiclass into dragon diciple (and then I will have Stats )), my brother is playing as a sorcerer (he IS going to have one lvl in pala for the saveing throws and the heavy armor (a sirc witha heavy ramour )). My brother is lvl 6, and I am lvl 5. The thing is, I have cleaned out the prison, and the beggars nest (the ground that is, I'm going to go down into some caves right after I'm finnished here (the forum)), and my brother is still not done whith the prison yet. That's right, I've done more than he, and he's higher lvl. WHAT'S GOING ON!!!???

Its you ECL. (Effective Character Level)

Being a sorc with only 1 level of pally your bro will be level 6 BUT have an effective level of about 3-4. He will get exp based on his effective level. This is to make sorc/wizards etc. better able to cope with the game as they are weaker earlier.

You have 4 fighter levels and 1 bard. The bard does have an ECL decrease until you hit level 10 but this isn't really noticable with the fighter levels. So you are level 5 and your ECL is also level 5. You will get less exp per kill than your brother. If you took more bard levels so you were something like 4 bard/4 fighter you'd see a difference in early exp for kills.

All classses become even when they hit level 11 though. You will still end up about 1 level behind him though.

For SERIOUS ECL cheese try sorc 5/cleric 5/RDD 10. You'll hit level 20 somewhere in the middle of chapter 3!

Ubereil,

Has your brother multi-classed yet?

Always keep in mind there is an XP penalty for all regular classes that Multi-class before 20th level.

If your brother is still a Sorcerer only then he is getting more XP than you because he hasn't Multi'd his character to another prime character class.

Oh, and what Womble said too.

Since he's a human, isn't it so that his highest classlevel doesn't count in this case? (IE his sorc level won't count when multiclassing, and my fighter level won't count, so I won't get any experiencedrop?)

Übereil (thanks for the replies)

That's a bit misleading there..

If he's human then no worries. Pally 1/sorc x will get no penalty.

Similarly with his character. Bard 1/fighter 4/RDD will be ok for a human UNLESS he is playing with a game version lower than v.1.64 and raises the RDD level higher than the other 2. Otherwise prestiege classes don't count for the XP penalty

I do like to clear every quest i can,but on this one i think i mucked it up by clearing out the boss in this level before having a thorough look around, cos he was not in the wharehouse by the time i got there.
