I don't cheat (at least not now)! I only use it to check what my chars will look like (sort of, I'm not into this creepy planning-with-pen-and-paper thing).
Übereil (We checked out how easily we could kill the swords of never (I'm gonna take care of the right after I'm done here)with a lvl 40 monk (I'm gonna use my lvl 7 barb though...). It wasn't fast, but it was easy, and my brother couldn't stear him when we had used haste on him ! MAN, he was fast!)

Heh, whenever I play any other class than monk now they always move too slow. Barbarian is reasonable. Try using Grimnaw the mad monk when he gets his dark moon robes. (beyond Luskan) You won't have to lift a finger! Zoooooommmm! Splat! Next!
I don't really call it cheating much. It's not like its running all the way through the game in god mode! Just giving XP you should've got anyway. Or just testing out prospective character builds in UB's case.
Spick: you won't break the game you know.

Geeze, I thought I would only play for a couple of minutes, then go to bed. One hour later I realize I didn't...

PS on what level is Dresther in Helms hold? I suspect the cave... DS

I have now told Tomi to use his Bow and Arrows cos he kept zooming off into the distance and attacking enemies i hadn't even spotted yet! That brings up a query i have, do i lose the XP if my comrade in arms gets any kills that i should have got? or his whats mine is yours? if you know what i'm getting at. Ubereil be more patient, if you're at Helms Hold you'll come across Desther soon enough, just make sure you save very often in case you stumble upon him unexpectantly!! I am in The Druids Encampment at the momment, been given a quest to find some missing Druids and find out what has made the Animals nasty little critters.

you share exp, iirc. you'll gain more exp pts if you solo, but the difference isn't that great. it's not even worth one level, at least that's what happened to me when i played once without a merc.
henchmen are definitely worth the investment (moreso in HOTU), even if tomi oftentimes thinks he's on a suicide mission, like a kamikaze jet from world war II.

Tomi has allready died for me many times... (like in the swords of never when I sacrifised him in order to get to a better possition. I didn't manage to get them one and one, but at least I got them two and two...)

I only used Deekin temporarily. I only used him to identify my stuff and then I dropped him like a hot brick again. Then I picked him up to bring into chapter two just to leave him in the temple to identify my stuff again. Then I grabbed him just before the end of chapter two to take into chapter 3 just to identify my stuff again.
Poor Deekin he didn’t get to do much more than that with me. I did enjoy some of his dialog with Valen.

Kyra_Ny oh kyra, how could you drop poor deek just like that? he's such a lovable (& killable) char. some of the funniest lines i've ever heard from a crpg were uttered by him. the longer he stays w/ you, the funnier he becomes. "as the intrepid kobold & his companion continue on their journey, the boss didn't seem to notice that deekin recently passed gas." sacred has its fair share of funny lines, too. if you leave your char idle for some time, he/she will eventually have something amusing to say.
