Good thinking, spick. Hit and run is a very good tactic in some tight situations.

Death Magic is what he took you out with if you didn't have protection against it.

The Bodak won't always throw Death Magic at you to start with. Sometimes he will
throw something else a time or two, but after one or two hits if he hasn't
killed you he will cast Death Magic and then you are a gonner unless you have protection against it or can avoid it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" />

I am currently sauntering around the Sewars of Luskan,and i am in cahoots with one of the captains to kill the other for some big dosh <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/badsmile2.gif" alt="" />,now though i have got sidetracked and am clearing the ruins of Illusk, great fun though re-killing all the Zombie and Skelatal types. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />
Oh...and i forgot to post all my Feats <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shame.gif" alt="" />, there are so many of them!!

spick, forget the feats. I was the one that asked and it is no biggie.

Have you played the chaptains against each other. You can get more money out of

You will have to talk to both of them more than once, but if you do you can get
them to raise the reward they will pay for the other's head.

All done with The Ruins of Illusk and back on me way to see Kurth and see what he has got to say about himself, got a nice suit of armour in Illusk, White Dragon Armour +5AC Deflection against Good i believe it said ?? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" />

Installed HoU last night, everything is just fine , had to update to 1.64 which was a 25Mb patch, took my dial-up nigh in 2 hours!!!
Will soon be levelling up and can't wait to what further options there will be now. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

glad to hear it worked smoothly for you. just a suggestion: be sure to finish the oc first before firing up hotu. there's a link in the storyline somehow. you can skip shadows of undrentide or play it at a later date. the storyline of sou has nothing to do with the oc & hotu, except for a ridiculously funny henchman. but you'll get to hire him early in hotu, so no problem. on with the adventure! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />

besides, the prestige classes in sou, which you can get also in hotu, are nothing to write home about. in fact, one of the most useless prestige class in the game was introduced in sou, the harper scout. don't make the mistake of aspiring for that. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

that's an okay armor but i would tend to stay away from items that are alignment specific. i never knew the alignment of my opponents anyway. i just assumed they were all naturally evil, as i play good-aligned characters mostly.

by the way, there's a trick to get nifty items in the ruins of illusk: once you killed the boss there (lich is it???), save your game before opening the chests. then just load everytime you don't get something you need. i got me boots of speed and other nice items for my dwarven barb/fighter there. took a lot of reloading, though.

p.s. pls don't chastise me if it's cheating. reloading often is kinda boring, you know. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Spick just a quick hint here .... If you rightclick on the update screen (near top middle) a small panel of options will appear, where you can tick "save downloaded patch" this way IF you ever need to re-install you dont have to download all over again <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

This tip is prolly to late but hey patch 1.65 is coming out soon <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I'm thinking about start a new character - maybe a shifter to be more specific.
What do you people has to say about this class, is strong enough? i never made one.
