I use a Dire Wolf or a Dire Hound.
It’s called one of those two I think.
The Druid Spells I cast on it are: 1-Awakening 2-Greater Magic Fang (although you may not need this spell due to the Awakening spell, but I cast it anyway), 3-Stone Skin 4-Bull’s Strength 5-Cat’s Grace 6-Element Protection
And I give it a Potion of Clarity if we’re in a Creature Fear situation like a Dragon or Mummy, etc…
Also, If the baddies like to cast Invisibility on themselves or Darkness Spells I always have "True Seeing" and "Ultravision" Spells cast on my Companion so they always see the enemy.

A little more:
On several occasions while surrounded by a group of baddies all my 16th level Druid had to do was cast a Bombardment Spell and a Fire Storm Spell and basically all baddies were dead. Anything left over died via a Flame Strike Spell.
Note: I’m playing the game on Normal Mode. You have to be a little more careful when casting Spells on Hard Core or Insane Mode. Then your own spells will damage you and all Friendly’s including your Animal Companion if they are caught in the area of the Spells damage.
Also Note: Some creatures are Immune to all Spells. Then you will need to Shape Change to waste them. Be sure to Buff Up first in spells Like Stone Skin and such before you Shape Change.

true, the druid is a fun and powerful class to play. but there's another class that's more powerful (slightly i think): a cleric. can wear the heaviest of armors (druid's armor & weaponry are limited), can spontaneous cast, summons are nastier than a druid. a druid's shapechanging abilities are rendered obsolete by the sheer diversity & flexibility of the shifter's many forms.
the cleric is a great class to play for those who like to be part meleer & part caster.
but for rp purposes, a druid is still a very viable build.

Fafnir What dragon your animal companion killed? With sure isn`t the Lich Dragon, try to send your animal against this Dragon, it`ll only be a meat shield. Your animal can be very strong in high lvls but your shapechange ability is limited a lot, and as a shifter i think is more nice cause you have to handle the situation with your own hands. I like to see the character hiting how many monsters he/she can in a moment, i think the rogue/assassin/shadowdancer is a very good class, except against beasts what are imune to sneak or death attack. The good thing is always the surprise element cause you are invible, you can kill anyone in one(paralyse and death) hit or two if the enemy don`t die at the first attack.

I agree this is a great game.
I know where some glitches in the first game are...like the zoo mission, you can lock animals up in a regular room and keep talking to them for xp.
I have all the games and only one dissapointed me.....last one wasnt able to be multiplayer unless you start in chapter 2.

Fafnir: Meh, any class that can cast heal can annihilate undead opponents.
But I agree, Drooods are much underrated and very powerful. Especially with one monk level. (powergamer yehaaa)

I must get back on track, have not played for four or five days now because of Jack having his tonsils removed, and he likes to see me play Call of Duty.

Yeah, at 16 lvl? Of course when you reach the dragon's cave your lvl is much higher, i'm saying that you cannot kill this dragon so easy at this lvl.
