Hi, Spick Do you have G2 with Addon or without? The addon is harder, but all the Monsters you meet on your way to the Town, you can handle. The Goblins in the Tunnel are a little bit hard, but if you try to attack them with the Bow (or with the Magicspells you can find if you climb behind the Tower on the rocks. you can find at the side of that little Lake you can take them. The next thing is the hit and run strategy. In G1 and G2 its important to follow this strategy. If you fight, allways Keep cool. You can see the most enemys before they will attack you. So save your Game, and approach slowly the enemys. Normally one of a Group will take notice from you, the rest not, the one wich notized you will beginns to follow you and you can seperate him and kill. Find a rythm to swing your Weapon, dont give the monsters the time to attack you. If you push them back follow them. In the first Chapter it is very hard to fight with more than one Enemy (its works only with a Bow from a top the enemys cant reach). Only the Goblins, after i did it once and know the best tactic i never had problems with them again.

The first screens of Gothic 3 are available now : A German gaming mag, the PC Games, has an article about them. It looks incredibly detailed !

During one fight at the begining i killed a poor little wolf and saw that i gained some experiance, is there a screen which shows how much experiance i need to reach the next level and do i gain points to put into Skills etc.?

Yes, use the B Button. For each Level you climb up, you will earn Learnpoints like in DD, this Point can you use to raise your attributes and your Skills. But for this you have to go to a Teacher. If the Exp from that wolf the first Eyp you get so i have to ask. Do you reed the books in the top of the Tower? (The books in the Lecterns) For each book you read you will earn Exp. If you managed it to go in the Town without using the Gates, you can go to Lares and earn 500 Exp. Then you have to leave the Town without using the Gate too.

I played myself a marathon session of G2+NotR this weekend. Spoiler : I finally made it through the “The Test of Fire”. That was one of the most difficult and time consuming tests I ever did so far. Talk about having no clue as to where I should start looking. Finally I decided to try and get behind the Monastery since the clue in the “Path of the Believers” quest said something about being behind Innos or whatever. All I did was practically run from everything. I’m just glad I bought all of those spell scrolls and I increased my mana before I did that Path of the Believers test; otherwise I would have never succeeded. Also, “The Living Rock” quest was impossible to solve until it dawned on me how much they used the word SLEEP in the conversations with Garwig. Then finding that blasted creature was a trick too. I’m just glad I had a save before asking for that part of the quest because your journal does not record everything said to you for that quest. I reloaded to hear the clue several times and then I had a pretty good idea where it might be since I did the Path of the Believers test first. It took me longer and required more traveling, but I think it made things easier for me that I only asked for one quest at a time rather than all three at once. Path of the Believers: Ulf got killed by some Snappers I ran into at the Inca Pyramids. I decided that isn’t the way I was going to go and I left him for dead. Agar was a real pain. I had to do a lot of running and a Fire Arrow scroll, run and another Fire Arrow scroll. It took me about 4 or 5 of those until he finally went down. Anyway now I am a 5th level Fire Mage.

It was back to G1 last night and I finally found and got the Orc Hammer! That area had quite a few Bloodhounds there. Spoiler : After I killed all of those Lizards I went up to follow the rock face and there was a Bloodhound right on the ledge. I peppered it with arrows before it got to me and it was dead. I followed the ledge rock face up only to be greeted by another Bloodhound! I shot it with arrows, but it killed me. So I reloaded and this time I was ready for it. I ran up and started shooting it immediately. This time I killed it, but it nearly killed me again. Whew, that was a close one. I went to move forward, but on the right I saw a lot more Bloodhounds! I tried to jump up on the rock on the right, but I couldn't make it. So I thought what to do. I decided to walk behind the rock on the right along the cliff face. Now one might think that, that face is impossible to cross; because, you slip or get bumped off and you fall into the river below. But that is wrong. If you go forward as far as you can and then position yourself to walk backwards along that narrow ledge you can Strafe Right along that ledge until it gets wide enough for you to walk forward again. Once I did that on the other side was another Bloodhound and it killed me. So again I reloaded and I ran up and shot it with arrows. Like the last Bloodhound, it too almost killed me, but I killed it first. Three Bloodhounds remained in the center left. Since now the rock was on my left and the bridge with the Orc was on my right. I waited for the Bloodhounds to slightly disappear from my sight and I ran to the center rocks and got on top of them. From atop of those Rocks those Bloodhounds met their death from above. However, one Bloodhound was smart and ran around, climbed up the rock I was on and almost got me! But I got him first. I found the Orc Hammer in the Bloodhound cave. Then it was on to the Orc on the other side of that bridge. Of course I didn't know it was an Orc until I got close enough. Tactics I tried with that Orc. Arrows: Not very effective at my skill level and DEX; I died. Spells: Not very effective. I only had low level spell scrolls; I died. I ran and had the Orc follow me all the way to the Old Camp; I died. I died because the guards at the Old Camp got super pissed at me for bringing an Orc to the Old Camp and the Guards killed me! Finally I decided to use the direct approach and I used the Orc Hammer. At last, in only 9 swings the Orc was history! I attempted to killed the other two Bloodhounds below, but one disappeared on me. I went back across the bridge, from where I came, to see if I could find it. Somehow it climbed a tree and it was where the Orc used to be! Lucky for me it came straight for me and instead of taking the bridge, to get to me, it committed suicide and jumped right off the cliff killing itself. I then just jumped off of the bridge into the water, swam to the last Bloodhound and killed it.
Sorry for the long play by play, but maybe someone will enjoy reading my shared experience.

I finished these Bloodhounds with the bow. I always used the bow, except when I was attacked very near and had to defend my self.

Yes, I too used the Bow for those blasted Bloodhounds. They are way too quick and powerful for me to fight toe-to-toe.
Still in G1: Spoiler : I decided to take that other bridge opposite of the Orc Bridge and there was a Golem. I thought, Oh, Sh*t! This time I decided to try the direct approach first, so I pulled out the orc hammer and in only about 10 maybe 18 swings that Golem was toasted; got him on my first try; yahoo! He took half my health away, but I still beat him. Then I went up the path; near the top I heard a flapping sound. I moved so I could look up and I saw them...Harpies! Again, I tried the direct approach using the orc hammer and lured one to me. Well, that didn't work, I died. This time I stood back and shot them with arrows; that worked super good. They never even swooped down on me. I went into the building and eradicated the Harpy infestation all with my bow. While doing that I died about 8 times and I ate a lot of food for health, but I got them all. I opened the book case door and found skeletons. I knew I was absolutely no match for more than one skeleton at a time. So I just left them alone and hoped they would wander the building while I moved upward and took out the rest of the Harpies. It worked; there were 3 skeletons and they were all at different locations when I came back down. Each skeleton was a hard and difficult battle for me. For 10 hits that made contact with them I only damaged them in one hit. The third and last skeleton was the hardest. I must have hit him at least 30 to 40 times before I finally killed him. I was standing up from my chair yelling at my computer monitor, "Come on die you blasted mother, die, die, die!" Finally it died and none too soon. I only had 3 health points remaining after that fight. Whew! Well, now I have the deed to that building.

Piranha Bytes and JoWood have created a Pre-E3 teaser trailer, i.e. a trailer that should convince people to visit their E3 booth.
This trailer will be released by JoWood to the media tomorrow but World of Gothic is able to present it exclusively to our visitors right now.
The teaser, the JoWood interview from yesterday and the video present given to us are clear signs that JoWood is willing to include online media and especially fan sites in their marketing campaign. We are glad about this decision and wish you a lot of fun with the teaser. You need Dixv to play this Trailer. Looks very nice Source + Link to Download

AlrikFassbauer (chuckle) I did that on purpose for two reasons. ONE: To give extra expression to particular lines. TWO: To create curiosity causing one to want to read the spoiler. Tsel

I'm in chapter 4 in G1 now. The Old Camp is totally pissed at the Fire Mages and now I have to find the Fire Mages if I can. What really bugs me is I have the skill points to go into the 5th circle of magic, but there isn't anyone who can teach me.
Spoiler : I found, in the pond below where the Orc Hunter was on that bridge, inside that run down leaning tower, an underwater tunnel to an area filled with Skeletons, Skeleton Mage, and a ton of zombies; I was only a 3rd circle mage at that time. I took care of the Skeletons and Skeleton Mage easily, but those Zombies I slightly scratched them. So I had to lead them all to die by drowning. Unfortunately, I suspect that one of those Zombies had a key on him; because now I can't open two of the chests in the left chamber. Lock pick doesn't work so you have to have a key and since the Zombies are all at the bottom of the pool the key is lost for good.

No, it's not - if I remember correctly from your description, you will get the key later in the game to retrieve items required for the main plot line.

Do you get the Exp for the Zombies? If not, it is better to load an other Savegame and come back later.
You can also join to the new Camp now, the Watermages will trained your Circles.

I get XP for the Zombies if I actually kill them myself. I was able to kill one and I got 200 XP for it, but if they drown on their own without me touching them then I get zero XP for their deaths. It is no biggie. I am 17th level now and the Orc Warriors are starting to get easy to kill for my mage. I even killed a handful of Swamp Sharks without even breaking a sweat.
It was funny; because, two of the Zombies were fighting each other at the bottom underwater. Until, they both started sparking blue and then they died.
Oh, and I tried to join the New Camp, but they are telling me I have to start from square one and Lee won't even talk to me. I just get END dialog. I think that is real bad that I have to be a rogue when I am already 4 circles of Mage.
