I entered the cave I can go between the first 2 rooms but I can't get to the main part of cave. Is there a door or what I have bumped up agenst the stone wall between chambers but can't get out of the second chamber.

Do you have all 4 Map pieces? You will need all 4 maps for this quest. If I remember right if you do not have all 4 maps then you cannot go any further till you get them.

Here is where you can find the four treasure maps:
A) In the Spider Cave (Dark Forest) B) Sold by Mpenzak (Verdistis) C) On a dead body (Verdistis Sewers) D) In a cell (Dwarven Halls)

Actually, the spider cave is in Rivertown, though not too far from the Dark Forest entrance, just north west of the archer's guild.
