What are the next two numbers in this sequence?

8, 5, 4, 9, 1, 7, 6, 3, ?, ?

If I've got the right idea here, then it seems that there could be quite a few possible answers:

Spoiler : The simplest looks like 2,0 - but lots of others also follow what seems to be the rule. i.e. Several possible combinations of two numbers between 21 and 29, numerous ones above two hundred, two thousand, etc.

You've got it, but it is only the simple answer because Spoiler : all of the others are single digits. The puzzle only asks for the next two answers because there are only two more answers. If it was to use the multi-digit numbers, then the rest of the puzzle would have them as well.
Congrats for getting it!
