hi

i has buy this 2cd game <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beyond.gif" alt="" /> at malaysia.
but i can't play after install...........

when i run game, this massage will auto jump out.(i send it together)
then ask me send the error report to microsoft...............
but i never send..............

can u tell my how to solve this problem?

'unable to read configuration file - Exiting'


when i try to run game <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beyond.gif" alt="" />, this massage will come to me and put me to desktop. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/puppyeyes.gif" alt="" />

Have you updated your drivers already? You can do this at the following website: www.nvidia.com

yes, i have update the driver o`ready~``

Try one of the following:

1. There is a microsoft patch that helps prevent the crashing to desktop. You can download it Here

2. TRy to install Direct X 9.0c AFter you install DirectX 9.0c, Click on "Start" -> "Run" and type in DXDIAG (and press enter). Run all the tests in this program and see if it finds anything wrong.

3. Sometimes other programs install on your computer without you knowing it, they often cause problems with games. Download Spybot to find them and remove them from your computer. This is a very handy program.

4. Are you shutting down all non-essential programs (especially anti-virus) before starting the game?

5. Try to run the configuration utility from "start" -> "Programs" ->"Larian Studios" -> "Beyond Divinity" -> "Configuration Tool". See if that works and after that try to run the game again.

Also, there is a divx movie player that can cause the 'unable to read configuration files' error when it is enabled (it takes the .div file extension association, though I don't see why that would effect Beyond Divinity's config.div configuration file).

Have you tried things we mentioned in this link? If you did, what was the outcome of it?

There are about a million things that can cause this, so its a process of elimination, once we know what helps and what doesnt, we can give more advice on how to get around the problem.
