I am new here and I would really appreciate some help if anyone can answer my
question.

I have read where Homer is suppose to give you the troll quest and I think I may have broken it by talking to Reginald before talking to him. When I first talk to Homer, I do not get the option to ask him about the trolls. My options are only to ask him about his wife Trisha and about a place to rest.

Did I break the quest by talking to Reginald first? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

i'm certainly not a pro but i'm quite sure the quest is not broken...

in fact IIRC if you have promised to reginald to avenge his son it is enough even if the quest doesn't appear in the log... when you will have killed the trolls you will be able to speak to homer and have XP and reput points...

Have you already cleared out the troll cave? IIRC that will prevent you from getting the quest to do so.

No, I have not cleared out the troll cave. I have not even been in it.

Instead I crossed the bridge and headed up the path towards the Cursed Abby. I
started exploring the Farmlands from the Abby south and met Reginald before meeting Homer. Reginald told me the trolls had killed his son and I told him I would kill them for him.

I had read that Homer was suppose to give me the quest to kill the trolls, but when I reached him, I only had the options to ask him about his wife or about a
place to rest. For some reason he will not let me ask him about the trolls.

Any ideas what I did wrong?

I checked Kiya's site (Farmlands) and it seems talking to Reginald first does prevent Homer from giving the quest. There is great reward for it, though, just a bit of experience.

Any suggestions on how to keep this from happening again? I'm not one to always follow a normal pattern and knowing me I could end up messing up over half the quests. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />
