There is a demo available. It consists of the first level of the first act, which was designed to be linear. Later acts are more open.
There are party selection hotkeys in the full game, as well as screen movement and re-centre hotkeys, which were added after the demo was released. Voices in the game were re-done after the demo, particularly the Death Knight's; opinions on both vary widely (in any case the DK's voice gets better as the game progresses).

There are multiple ways to solve quests, and some conflicting quests where you must choose one path over another. Unfortunately these to not have an impact on the main plot, and there is only one ending.
