Guys, could you please describe me how does all that ordering work. I am prolly old fashioned but I haven't used pay-with-credit-card-in-internet-to-get-stuff much.
Ok, I wanna order Guildwars. There is that preorder box for 9.99$ and game for 49.99$. Should I order both?

How will I receive it? Can I download it from net and pay for the key? As it was with Valve's Steam. There is that client still available for download. So can it be just pay for the preorder key, dl client and enjoy?

Or will they send it to me by mail? And who, they? I mean where do you order from. Most of those ordering places at guildwars website don't have Estonia listed at all. Ok, some of them have, but do you pay for delivery and how much?
Ohh I feel confused <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" /> And how long do you wait?

And and what is that passcode everyone has?

You need a passcode to play in the beta. It comes in the pre-order box. Now IIRC, if you get the pre-order box, then you can get guild wars, when it comes out, for only $40. Thats what it was here. You can try those sites, seeing how much shiping would be.

If you want to order GuildWars, you could pay 10$ (20 in my case) in advance as a deposit. You get the pre-order boxet for free. It contains the game's client (which you can download online), a big poster, a CD with concept art/screenshots/desktop wallpapers/7 minutes of Jeremy Soule music, an exclusive item, a Beta Passcode and a passcode to give to a friend.

I preordered in EB Games. I walked in the store, asked the clerk, paid 20$ and he gave me the box. The client is still available here. I do not know how much it will cost to deliver to Estonia, sorry, Egin. You have to wait untill the game comes out to receive it and it seems it is going to be in April.

Egin, if you wish to try the game before thinking about buying it, PM me and I will give you the access key to play on the next weekend.

Thanks for the info guys.

DATD: It is very kind of you to offer me that passcode. Thank you. But, to be fair with you I more or less know how the game looks (got a chance to participate in both betas). So I will probably start hunting that preorder box or just sit and wait till release.

About that client. Is it still possible to pay them, get the code and play through that client without even ordering that box with those posters?
Or key come with box only?

You cannot pay ArenaNet directly. You need to preorder the game to play in the betas (although the 18th February is the last one) and to buy the game to play it once it's out.

Maybe you could attempt to purchase it in UK once it's out?

Now I understand. If you say that February 18 is last beta weekend, then sure there is no reason to look for preorder package. I will seek for release and probably you right I will look in UK, as my favourite game store in Helsinki doesn't have it.

The European Union has it's advantages. If I order from the US, I get subjected to unholy taxes. If you order from the UK, you do not pay anything besides the shipping and the product.
I am sure one of the many stores in UK have it.

Thanks all for the welcomes <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> Still getting used to the different board set ups etc here but hoping to get to know everyone better.

Yes I'm really enjoying the single player aspect of Divine Divinity. My character isn't group dependent and if I need to get up and wander around for whatever reason, I just hit the space bar <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> No explaining to a group of waiting adventurers that I have to take care of a kid or dog or cat ..well you get the picture <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Guild wars definately has me hooked tho, going crazy waiting for the next beta weekend. I am glad that they are doing away with subscription fees so I won't feel guilty for keeping my EverQuest account active. (er make that accounts between husband and I we have 4)

Have a great day everyone & stay safe

Yes, they almost look as to be pictures from a fantasy book. I am very impressed with what ArenaNet menaged to create. It is the best looking MMO to date and I am sure it shall remain such for a long time.

I think I'm finally learning patience, since I CAN wait to be in it. But that's just because I know I won't get it earlier if I wait...

I can't remember offhand what my characters names are. Hmm.. Faeriee Elfslayer is one, not sure of the rest, Mistress Reeva and Miss Reeva come to mind, lol I was getting to know a few different class combinations <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Looking forward to being able to play Guild Wars whenever I want and not have to wait for weekends =)

While I was reading stuff about Guild Wars I came upon an interesting article on photics.com, an elite GW fansite which has monthly e-zines.

That article mentioned that a Warrior/Elementalist could be lethal even with the low energy a warrior has. So I went to another GW elite fansite, the Guild Hall, to get some info on the skills and see if it really could be possible. So I came up with this build that looks very promising in theory and I look forward to testing it in practice.

Skill #1: Resurrection Signet

A one-time-per-mission resurrection ability.

Skill #2: Inferno

Description: Deal 18/100 fire damage to nearby enemies.
Energy Cost: 10.
Casting Time: 1 seconds.
Recharge Time: 20 seconds.
Linked Attribute: Fire Magic. Increases damage.
Skill Type: Spell.

Skill #3: Conjure Flame

Description: Lose all Enchantments. For 60 seconds, your attacks strike for an additional 1/16 fire damage.
Energy Cost: 10.
Casting Time: 1 second.
Recharge Time: 60 seconds.
Linked Attribute: Fire Magic. Increases damage.
Skill Type: Enchantment Spell.

Skill #4: Cleave (elite)

Description: If this attack hits, you strike for 1/16 more damage.
Energy Cost: None - requires Adrenaline.
Casting Time: Next Attack.
Recharge Time: Adrenaline - 2 strikes.
Linked Attribute: Axe Mastery. Increases damage bonus.
Skill Type: Axe Attack.

Skill #5: Dismember

Description: If it hits, this axe blow will inflict a Deep Wound on the enemy, lowering that enemy's maximum health by 20% for 5/23 seconds.
Energy Cost: None - requires Adrenaline.
Casting Time: Next Attack.
Recharge Time: Adrenaline - 7 strikes.
Linked Attribute: Axe Mastery. Increases duration.
Skill Type: Axe Attack.

Skill #6: Axe Twist

Description: If this attack hits an enemy suffering from a Deep Wound, you strike for 1/16 more damage and that enemy suffers from Weakness.
Energy Cost: None - requires Adrenaline.
Casting Time: Next Attack.
Recharge Time: Adrenaline - 8 strikes.
Linked Attribute: Axe Mastery. Increases bonus damage.
Skill Type: Axe Attack.

Skill #7: Rush

Description: For the next 8/23 seconds, you move 25% faster.
Energy Cost: None - requires Adrenaline.
Casting Time: Instant.
Recharge Time: Adrenaline - 4 strikes.
Linked Attribute: Strength.
Skill Type: Stance.

Skill #8: Frenzy

Description: For the next 8 seconds, you attack 33% faster in melee, but all hits against you in melee are critical hits.
Energy Cost: 5.
Casting Time: Instant.
Recharge Time: 4 seconds.
Linked Attribute: None.
Skill Type: Stance.

I don't know how many people will understand all this <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> but those who do please give me your opinion on this. My attributes will be distributed evenly between Strength, Axe mastery and Fire Magic.

In combat it'd be something like this. I see the ennemies and cast Conjure Flame. I then run towards them and cast inferno if there are 2 or more ennemies around me. By the time I get to the ennemy and cast inferno, I should have gotten back 5 energy, which lets me cast frenzy. I would then get adrenaline at a nice speed and be able to use cleave a few times, and then dismember and axe twist. If things get too hot I can always rush out of the combat.

Thanks in advance for your opinions fellow Guild Wars fanatics (if indeed there are others in this forum)

Well it looks good, the good things about both spells and melee.
Tell me how it works out, it sounds good anyways. I think I sort of got parts of it. laugh

At least you don't have to wake up at 6 am, in order to get to school by 8 for an economics text, or to have a 2 hour History essay, Lews.

Yeah, back when I was in main school we allways had like five tests the last two weeks. Not to add the two essays we hade to finnish til then. The rest of the year were slow as hell, but the last two weeks before a holiday...
