Oh, yes

I have myself set up as a Permanent Absentee Voter.
That way my Ballot is always mailed to me and I never have to go to the Polls on Tuesday.
I had my Vote cast over two weeks ago.

As I'm sitting here in my orifice typing away when I should be working I'm wondering what has really changed in my life due to politicians.

An the first thing I can only say that I think charisma has a too big impact on who will become the president. Bush won a lot of votes on the fact that pepole would rather go for a beer with him than with Kerry! Jesus Christ, he's supposed to run your country, not take pepole for a beer!

About the last thing: If you would could shoose between a little more than two conservative parties, (the key in conservative politics is making as few things as possible happen, and the things that happens should be small things) maybe there would happen a little bit more...

I think smeone said that if Europeans would vote that Kerry would win by a landslide...well maybe not a landslide but win convincingly.

Its interesting that all the views so far have been those whom dislike Bush...it seems like there are none whom could offer a different view.

I myslef dont particularly like Bush but i hae to say that the "religous vote" got him re-elected.
It seems like the main reason for voting Bush in is on a moral basis.
According to the media coverage here in england..it was that and not even Iraq/Eccomony(esp in Ohio) which won him it.
I was also surprised at Florida going for Bush...but then again there was a polling problem...not enough machines or people inspite of waiting to vote for a couple of hours gettig fed up and going home.

At least it wasnt as bad as 4 years ago but maybe this could be arranged better.

I think that there are broadly 2 types of America...conservative states like thos in the middle and the "coast" states where they have a more liberal view.

I personally feel that conservatism/or religous based views(irrespective of what religon you believe) can lead to close mindness and potentially shutting yourselves from the rest of the world and society.

I certainly do know what socialism is! I've only lived in the US for 3 years. I only moved here for employment reasons. I was born in the UK. My grandfather was a great believer in socialism. I learned a lot from him. England's different now though. Its the 51st state... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

I guess since I met my wife here I'll have to stay in America. Massachucetts ain't so bad though. Its a very liberal state. (Apart from banning gay marriage)

Thank's Tragic for reminding me: Another thing I don't like about America is the fact that you have to be christian in order to have a chance wehen running for president. If you don't say you're a christian, you've got no chance in winning. So, if you whant to be the president, you have to say you believ in god, and you have to go to church. Which sux too... I'm clearly makeing a point here <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />.

And Womble, I'm saying that the AVERANGE AMERICAN doesn't know what socialism i all about. And, just a quick note about gay marriage: If church don't let them marry eachother there, I can't do anything about it, since I don't give a f- about church (if I whant to change something in church, I'll have to join, and I'm not going to do that). But if they whant to marry before the registrar (got that from a dictionary, in case you don't know what it mean), that should be ok.

In many european countries if you are not in the religious main part you can't been elected in the highers reponsabilities...

People tell me (particualarly my wife) that I'm crotchety old fart. Thing is, I have virtually no stress at all and I like venting too. Its always better to release than bottle it up.
