[color:"orange"]Are these 'special' corners in some way? (i.e. would any corners do - in a corridor, on a city block or whatever?) Yes, they are special. [color:"orange"]Is the type of mask important? (I.e. Halloween style, ski mask, ice hockey mask, lone ranger type mask, or whatever...) Yes. Great guess HandEFood - but no (for the reasons that you suggest, and also because it's not the answer we're looking for. )

I'm going to make a slight edit to the original question, to rule out your first guess (which was a good one). We'll have him born in 1975 instead.
I think I have the mask one sussed:
Spoiler : My mistake was to think of an ice hockey mask as a robber's disguise - but, hey, they use them for ice hockey too! So maybe it WAS an ice hockey goal keeper's mask. The attacker zigged and zagged around a couple of defenders, scored a goal and then returned to his position for the restart.

A man runs to a corner, he turns the corner and runs toward the next corner. There is a masked man there. The man turns around and runs back to the first corner.
What's the story?
I'm not very up on sports - but are we looking at a sporting event here? Is there a narrow definition of 'corner' here? I'm thinking of a corner as simply any place where a change of direction occurs. Is that applicable here? Spoiler : Is it Baseball? If it is I don't know enough about it to know why they run to where....

Spoiler : The man with the mask is the catcher. The 'corners' are the bases. The catcher had the ball, so he ran back to third.

Guess number 3: Spoiler : He was born in appartment 1975 and died in appartment 1952? Haha HandEFood You were more correct than I was! I got that question from a list I found on the net. When I looked up the answer a few minutes ago the answer they gave was: Spoiler : Not street/house numbers as I'd guessed, but hospital room numbers. So you were closer. Along the way I also thought of 'seconds' rather than years - i.e. his mother was in labour for nearly 33 minutes and he took around 32 minutes to die. I tried to make height in millimetres fit (died when his legs were chopped off, or whatever), but the question wording doesn't allow it... ------------------------------ Here's another from the same list: A woman came home with a bag of groceries, got the mail, and walked into the house. On the way to the kitchen, she went through the living room and looked at her husband, who had blown his brains out. She then continued to the kitchen, put away the groceries, and made dinner.

Yes you change direction. No it's more specific than that.

Yes! Partial points for that.

Had he blown his brains out with a gun? The answer just came to me suddenly! I'll PM it to not spoil it for the others.

I have an idea:
Spoiler : Did she look at a picture of her deceased husband?
Question:
Did she make dinner for two?

HandEFood and Sveltje both have the same idea (which is what I thought too). It is on the right track, although it is not the answer that was given when I saw the puzzle.
So, strictly speaking the answer to Sveltje's questions are no and no.
And the answer to whether he blew them out with a gun is not relevant (perhaps he blew them out with a bicycle pump... a bit slow though... )
Any other guesses along the same lines?

Just to get this straight: Is her husband dead?
Does she know her husband is dead?
Has he been dead for a while?
Does she acutally see her husband/his body (in contrast to just a reminiscence of him)?

Just to get this straight: Is her husband dead? Yes
Does she know her husband is dead? Yes
Has he been dead for a while? Yes
Does she acutally see her husband/his body (in contrast to just a reminiscence of him)? Probably a No - but with a touch of Yes! ???

One more:
A man takes his wife to the movies. During the film he strangles her to death. When he leaves he takes the body with him and nobody notices. He gets away with the body easily.
Hint 1:
Spoiler : There is a part to this that many of you may not have experienced yourselves, but which you would still know about.
Hint2:
Spoiler : When I had a guess at this I thought she might be in a wheelchair. Therefore he could push her out again as if she was just asleep. This was not the right answer though. However, there is a faint connection to the right answer.
Answer tomorrow... yawn...
