I was afraid you were going to say that. Do you have any saves at all from your first game?
I really think you were on the right track with your first character. Just because you had already maxed out your Int wouldn't have mattered. Int is very important in the game for more reasons than one. You could have started working on building Wisdom to the max and raising your Chrisma. These are two other very important stats to Planescape characters.
Most RPG's seem to use Strength, Dex, and Constitution as their main stats, but to me Planescape's focus was on Wisdom, Int, and Chrisma in that order. Another thing that made Planescape unique in my book.
