So Elliot_Kane is a writer, huh? No, wonder you express yourself so well in your posts. The way you make Planescape sound when you talk about it, the caracters almost seem to become alive. You are definitely good with words. If you are at all curious, Shantara, follow the link in my signature box Proof positive of whether I am any kind of writer, or merely self- deluded What did you think of the little guy Nordom? Did he appeal to you at all? He was the last character I picked up for my party.
Shantara I quite liked Nordom. I usually went with either him or Vhailor as the last member of my party - depending on my mood at the time

Proof positive of whether I am any kind of writer, or merely self- deluded Elliot, I would love to read something that you've written. The thing is I am new around here and I have no idea what you are talking about when you say click on the link in you signature box. What is your signature box? Just remember: DON'T remind him he tried to kill you, or he won't join you! Gotcha MysterD. Yeah, I agree. When do we start the replay? Or should I ask how you are going to work it in with all the other games you've got scheduled. PS. I'll catch your messages tonight when I have more time. Shantara

Shantara & MysterD... How well you can deal with Vhailor actually depends on your charisma and either Int or Wis being pretty high. If you have too low a score in any of those, you definitely should not talk to him about his past with you. Otherwise, there are a lot of EXP to be earned. He will want to punish you for your sins, but a smart and charismatic character can convince him that you are already paying, at which point he will not attack you. He's a very powerful fighter, second only to Morte (With the best magical teeth) in the game. *** Shantara... You can find the page with all my writing on here.

I never took Vhailor with me. I wasn't really sure if I could trust him or not. What was it like traveling with him? Never met him, I think. First reaktion was "Who? ". Second reaction was, ahh, Dak'kon! Then I checked it, and realized I was wrong, I don't think I ever met him... I'm reading reviews of all the npc's in the game. He gave Nameless one 10/10 (which is a good grade, according to me). But Morte only got 7.5/10 ( ![[Linked Image]](http://www.divinedivinity.net/smilies/burn.gif) ). Even Dak'kon got more! (8/10). Ignus got even more (8.5/10). One of my favorites, even though I allway kicked him out of my party. But that's mainly because of his comments (all very waried ). As soon as I do something what has anything to do with fire I go "BURRRRRN!!!". I liked him for that. I never needed him though since I was allmost allways a mage, and I didn't only have firemagics... Fall-From-Grace: Fall-From-Grace is the only priest in the game, but trust me, the only thing this broad's got going for her is her looks. (What??? The only healer in the game is nothing but good looking??? IDIOT!). Vhalior got 9/10. The Lim-Lim got 0,000001/10 (What??? He was worth AT LEAST 0,000002/10!!! )There are too many NPC's... (right now I whant to have nameless one, Morte, Dak'kon (who I will probably be forced to drop ), Annah, Mordon, Grace and Vhalior.). Then I checked it, and realized I was wrong, I don't think I ever met him... Ubereil, if you never finished the game, you may not have gotten far enough to meet him or you could have just missed him. Did you meet Trais in the Curst Prison and recover his sword for him? If you met Trais in the Curst Prison, did you leave the prison by way of the portal? Vhailor was behind that portal. To get to him, instead of going through the portal you had to go around behind it. Fall-From-Grace: Fall-From-Grace is the only priest in the game, but trust me, the only thing this broad's got going for her is her looks. (What??? The only healer in the game is nothing but good looking??? IDIOT!). I disagree with the guy who wrote the review here. Grace had more going for her than just looks. She might not have been the best fighter, but she did try to look out for all the party members. She was always trying to keep us healed in battle and after battle. The only thing that got me about her was that she kept trying to heal the Nameless One. I wanted her to focus on healing the others and leave him alone since I could look out after him easy enough. The little Lim-Lim was cute and even though I never found a real use for it in the game I carried one around with me just for the fun of it. If you really need a fighter with you, Vhailor would probably be who you would want and leave off Nordom. I didn't feel the need for Vhailor so I took Nordom. As for Morte, I think he should have been rated right up there with the Nameless One. He gave alot to the game if you ask me. He was a good fighter and he added humor and story. His ties with the Nameless One went back a long way. Shantara

Elliot Proof positive of whether I am any kind of writer, or merely self- deluded Elliot, thank you so much for posting the link to your writings. I haven't had much time to read them yet. I have started the first one and if the others are as good as it is then I would stick by what I said before. In terms of rating the characters, I wouldn't put any of them at less than an eight. They all have an amazing back history and their own ideas, thoughts, morals and attitudes towards the world. None of these guys have yet been equalled in any other game, let alone surpassed.
In terms of complexity, originality and careful attention to party balance no other set of characters have ever come close.
Anyone describing Grace as only being worth having for her looks clearly never realised you can talk with the other members of your party - or bothered to equip her with Call Lightning, which is one of the best direct damage spells in the game.
Similarly, Morte has many uses beyond 'comic sidekick'. Use his taunt ability on any of the major villains and tell me I'm wrong Great way to stop them throwing spells

None of these guys have yet been equalled in any other game, let alone surpassed. I agree 100%. They all deserve at least an 8 rating. In fact I would give all of the ones that I played with at leat a 9. I did not use Ignus or Vhailor so I don't know how I would rate them. I do know their stories were good though. One thing I noticed about Planescape, it wasn't just the main characters (ones that would join your party) had depth to them alot of the others did too like Dhall, Pharod, Fhjull Forked-Tongue, etc. even down to the talking wall. There was character and depth everywhere in Planescape. Anyone describing Grace as only being worth having for her looks clearly never realised you can talk with the other members of your party - or bothered to equip her with Call Lightning, which is one of the best direct damage spells in the game. Again I have to agree here. Maybe whoever reviewed Grace didn't know how to play her. She could hold her own any day. I feel like I really missed something good. Shantara

There was character and depth everywhere in Planescape. Agreed Every major NPC in the game and quite a few of the minor ones really feel like they have lives beyond the game, and that really adds interest to them and makes the game as a whole come alive. Again I have to agree here. Maybe whoever reviewed Grace didn't know how to play her. She could hold her own any day. Easily I frequently used Call Lightning to soften up some of the nastier foes before my warriors finished them off. There's at least one fairly major fight in Curst where Grace can reduce the odds from fiercely against her party to really easy. Now I know I have got to replay Planescape. I never used that skill with him. Why I don't know, but now I have got to go try it. I feel like I really missed something good. There are loads of good things in that game it's so easy to overlook. I don't think I found Heartgrinder until my third time through... Morte's taunt skill is so easy to forget about, but used just right it can turn a battle in your favour. Elliot, I finished your first story. It was very good. Now for the second one. I bet it will be just as good. If you're reading down the list in order from the top, I personally think the first is a bit confusing and unconnected, and I prefer the following stories with that character I'm glad you liked it, though It's always nice to get feedback on my stories - and always appreciated

There are loads of good things in that game it's so easy to overlook. I don't think I found Heartgrinder until my third time through... Heartgrinder is not ringing a bell with me. I'm not sure but I may have missed it/him? It/Him because I can't place the word to know which. Could you give me some more info so I will know whether I did find it/him or not? I frequently used Call Lightning to soften up some of the nastier foes before my warriors finished them off As did I. A great spell. Not a bad spell for my druid in NWN either. Didn't you think each character could hold their own in battle pretty good? I don't remember having to much trouble with any of them compared to some other games I've played. Did you use Ignus in any of your games? Could you give me some feedback on him? I never used him and I really have no idea what it would be like to have him as one of your party. Stories: Yes, I started with the first one in the list. I really like the first one and it sounds great that you think they get better down the line. I am looking forward to reading the rest of them. Shantara

Could you give me some more info so I will know whether I did find it/him or not? Heartgrinder is an axe you can find in Curst. Probably the best weapon in the game if you are not LG. Didn't you think each character could hold their own in battle pretty good? I don't remember having to much trouble with any of them compared to some other games I've played. They all had significant strengths to bring to any fight, yes. Did you use Ignus in any of your games? Could you give me some feedback on him? I never used him and I really have no idea what it would be like to have him as one of your party. Ignus is the bst mage in the game, as you would expect. He has some seriously heavy fire based damage spells and a few heavy invulnerabilities besides. If you want long range destruction over a wide area, Ignus is cool Stories: Yes, I started with the first one in the list. I really like the first one and it sounds great that you think they get better down the line. I am looking forward to reading the rest of them. I like to think I improve Hopefully you will think so too

I installed it yesterday and I'm going to restart it today (as fast as possible) . I think I'll go for a mage, and to get the maximum out of him I'm planning on running right to Mebbeth to get my training (and finnish it right after I've get my first fighterlevel for main stats and extra HP). Played a little yesterday and wasfelt happy because of the discussions between Morte and Nameless one. If you pick the best alternatrives (and not the "Right. Let's go" all the time) those discussions is pretty funny .
