Larian Studios Forums Beyond Divinity (English) Help/Tips/Tricks whoops, did I really mess myself up? spoiler?

I am in act II, battlefield level 6. I came to the 3rd level with nothing in the dungeon but 2 magical orb's on pedestals, 1 in east room and 1 in the west, that look like I need to do something with them, but dont know what to do. So I continued onto the alchemist's cave to fight the shaman, and I cant get past him at all. I backtracked and found out that when I was in the cave that collapses on me, I telepoted out of the cave before I could get the crystal fragment and be summoned by necromancer to the inn. I never completed this quest. Is this crucial to the game????

1. Please, explain this, I don't understand. Is he too strong for you or is he frozen on the spot? You don't kill him right away, but work him down to a few hit points, then you are kidnapped by him.

2. Which patch version are you playing and when did you patch to 1.45?

IIRC in the unpatched version teleporting yourself to the BF without having the fragment brought you back to imp village, so you did not complete the Necro task. And IIRC correctly again, this had no impact on the game (you just lost XP). But you did pick up the Bafflimiri mushroom? This is crucial for the alchemist quest.

The orbs in the BF are just decorative.

As Kiya said, other than missing some experience and minor loot, I don't think you will run into any problems from bypassing the necromancer's task. It is part of the main plot, but I am pretty sure if you are out of the cave the game assumes it was finished.
If you want to complete this quest but either can't or don't want to reload a save from before teleporting out of the cave, you use a save from before having the alchemist make the cure and hex edit teleport yourself back in (let me know, and I'll get the coordinates).

How do I defeat the Shaman?

thanks for all the help. I just though without getting the crystal fragment, I woul not be able to finish the game. I got the mushroom and all the ingredients, and when I go to fight the shaman, he just kicks my butt after about a 4 minute duel. Everytime I whiddle him down, he heals himself. I will just try harder, maybe try some traps. has anyone tried scorpion traps on him?

i had a tough time with him too, mostly because i was hitting him with stuff he was pretty much immune to. you got to get after him with another type of weapon(s)
