On the other hand...

I picked some of the cheapest speaker I could get my hands uppon there at the spot because I didn't need very good speakers (headphones). On the other hand, when I'm home all by myself I like to play games AND have music on in the backgrond (or, to be honest, have music on, and have the gamesound on in the background...). That's why I need speakers. Not very good ones though since there's close to allways someone else at home...

Heh, I use a built in sound card (Nvidia iirc) and plugged the whole thing into an old Ghetto blaster, which more or less means I get way better sound than my friend with his super duper specially designed PC speakers .... sure he has 5.1 and 5 or 6 speakerd but hey I only have 2 ears and am not totally gone on music just this forum and NWN PW

Oh and Ube if I where you I change that DVD etc etc for a LG dvd single and download the firm ware to make it a dual .... saves you at least us$50.00 and make sure you get some ram with coolers on it have fun oh on second thought make sure the whole thing runs on XP Pro at least if you are going windows

talk about sound system, it's one of the most under-rated component of a computer. sadly creative soundcards are the only good choices out there. unless u count pure stereo cards in as well.

as for headphones, i suggest good & comfy. Koss is my fav brands, especially ones that truly envelopes your ears for sound insulation plus comfort. & of course there's always Zalman 5.1 audio channel headphone, which is definitely in my list of new year 'I Wanna This & That!!'

Ok, i am not going to discuss your computer.... but PLEASE do yourself a favour and chuck norton away...... rather get TRend micro..... norton lets LOADS of viruses through

Or at the very LEAST, install spybot so you can close some of window's major vulnerabilities (DSO exploits) and prevent Some viruses of hopping onto your pc.

I was planning to install spybot and it's likes. And where can I get TRend micro? And is it for free? And does it work with norton? Etc...

We acually got a virus two days ago (what's why I've been away. Missed me?), while searching for KOTOR strategy guides... (Internet just isn't safe anymore. Or is it norton?)

I have this program too but i bought it.
With my Samsung i got Norton anti-virus for free but i did not use it because i hate Norton products.
I got also Nero-Burning Rom for free.

I am looking for a good program to stop the pop up and the spy wares because Trend Micro just has an anti-virus and a firewall.

Try looking here Barta: Pop-Up Stopper

If you're useing Internet explorer, you could try changeing to firewire (since I don't have it, I don't know if it's good or not, but at leat I've heard it's supposed to have a pop-up blocker).

Barta! Nice to see you!

Well, at least Nero rules! It's the best legal CD-burning program on the market.

Pop-ups
Spyware
Spyware II

Well, installed PC-cillin and ran it. Took eight times less than Norton yet it found and exhumed a virus.

Firefox--will block popups and prevent the downloading of software unless you specifically authorize it. You can also easily manage cookies so tha you don't get any tracking cookies you don't want. You can block banner ads as well.
It is not hard to use.
Download from www.mozilla.org
After installing it if you have any questions you can ask on the forum. There is also a nice page with links to tutorials at http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/
Firefox is just as easy to use as IE and is easier to customize.

Serives pack 2 has a decent popup blocker included...

for spyware i am hooked on spybot..

yes pc-cilling (Trend micro) comes with a few motherboards... ASUS, ASrock etc... and its still fully functional even though its the 2002 version... the only difference between 2002 and 2004 (the current version), is that 2002 doesnt include anti-spyware.... the rest are identical... firewall included, as well as a webtrap (prevents some harmful programs from running on a webpage you load)

TRend micro also have a free trial available for download, but after that you have to pay.

The version that comes with motherboards, are free for 1 year. (when it expires, you can uninstall it and reinstall it for another free year )
