lews 3200 on a 754 socket or 939 socket. On a 939 socket you can uograde to the fx series after a year. Also my sources say the 939 socket will be around for a long time(1,5-2 years) so any CPU that comes out for the 939 you can put in the MB as an upgrade. Start with 3200 end with 4500 or more.

ps: seen my MB link a few posts back. also remember that to fully exploit 64 bit use Windows XP 64 bit edition.

or you can wait till the dualcore cpu come out.

A 939 socket is needed for the nforce 4, which is required for the pci express card I will get later. It will be 939. I might even get something higher then 3200 when I have the cash.

But right now I need the cheap graphics card.

Thanks for the fast reply.

Edit: But now I'm confused. THe site says the 6600 GT is AGP and the specs say its AGP but from looking at the picture it looks like its PCI Express, and the site talks about SLI which isn't it only for just pci express nvidias?

I don't know, don't really care either. Its super fast, not that much.

Talking about not paying for things...

@ all, I think ill be getting one of the 9600 xt models for now. Any recommendations? Original or saphire/xtasy/diamond with 256 mb ram?

I think that either

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-102-331&depa=1

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-103-159&depa=1

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-102-467&depa=1

Mslynx has the Xtasy ( link not given) one, and says it works well, but it seems a tad more then the others, and it looks real noisy( huge fan, heatsink )

Is http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-102-467&depa=1 have 256 mb of ram? I can't tell. The site disagrees w/ itself on if it is or not.

If you pay a little bit more, you can have these: Corsair Twinx 1024MB XMS3200 - CL2/HSP (2x 512MB - 400Mhz - Matched Pair - CL2 - Heatspreader) They are tested and guaranteed to work in a dual channel configuration. Working fine in my new PC I just put together <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

what the exact change between those. Or is it just that they are garanteed to work in dual mode?

They are tested to work stable in dual mode without causing errors and are then sold as a package. They also come with a heatspreader (cooling), which makes them better for overclocking. This doesn't mean of course that 2 Corsair 512Mb DDR400 Value Select won't work stable in dual mode, it's just not guaranteed. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Dual channel - Enhances the memory performance. Ex:
If a memory provides bandwidth up to 4.3GB/s(in this case this badwitdth is from ddr2 memory). The bandwidth is doubled by the dual-channel architecture, the widest memory bus bandwidth 8.6GB/s is achieved on this type of motherboard.
Understood?

In lame man's terms....

Dual memory, is when your motherboard can read 2 (exactly the same) memory modules simultaniously, making the speed you can read/write to memory, double the normal speed.

By the type of the motherboard i presume that it has all new features like: serial ATA, gigabit lan and etc...
My suggestion is a dvd-recorder, if you are a fanatic sound, a creative sound card with EA(Enviromental Audio) Technology.
Maybe the vga could be changed to an MSI nvidia 6800 256mb.
You'll use RAID? Two hard disks - or is just for more space?
Water Cooling System maybe - thermaltake.

Btw - is a very good configuration.
I would like to know how is going the development of programs and of the windows xp for use of the capacity of the 64 bits technology. Anyone has some interesting links? Or can explain what is going on with this technology?
